Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
I don't think benching is the answer, not saying Brunell made some dumbshit throws. The coaches need to sit the team down and ask what the hell are we in this for? I mean c'mon, the Titans? I have never wanted to kick the shit out of somebodymore then I did today to Brunell and Jeff Fischer. I wanted to knock that greasy ass mustache off his face. Redskins are in Deep shit right now, one more loss, and time to look into the future. We should start Cambell in the first half, and see what happens, I mean c'mon , lets be real, WE ARE NOT GOING TO BEAT INDY NEXT WEEK!!!!

Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
I honestly don't think it would matter who is playing QB at this point, not when the D is playing this poorly.

Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
I do agree that the defense's play has been the biggest surprise and disappointment of the season so far. I wonder what happened.

On a similar note, I swear that if Campbell comes in and throws a few picks and then we hear "we gotta protect the ball" I'm gonna wanna kill him. Protecting the ball isn't working. Going 3 and out and then punting isn't any better than throwing a 30+ yard interception. At least you don't like you're too chickenshit to the throw the ball down the damn field. I think if we had someone who made defenses back off Clinton would have had an easy 100 yard game today, but what the hell did they have to fear? One deep ball the whole game? Are you kidding me? |

Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
It is definately overdue for Brunell to sit down and play backup. QB spot is one the weakest parts of this team right now.

Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
Part of the blame goes to Brunell, but most of the blame should go to the defense. Brunell by no means had a perfect game today, and he made a few mistakes that ended our chances, but he was put in that situation because of our defense. You have to find the source of the problem, not the latest person to become part of the problem.

And what is this "here for last season" arguement? I would use that as a pro-Brunell arguement. For the record I think if this team misses the playoffs, Campbell should get the job next season. So this arguement isn't really about my love for Brunell. It's about protecting the QB of YOUR Washington Redskins from becoming a Scapegoat for a team who has a defense that will be ranked in the bottom quarter of the league after this week. |

Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
The defense is the source of the problem. The blame is just going to Brunell because he threw the pick to end our chances of winning. Part of the blame is Brunell's fault for the way he played at the end of the game, but he wouldn't have been put in that situation if it wasn't for the defense. Once the Skins have been officially eliminated from playoff contention, I'm all for putting Campbell in and letting him take his lumps. Until then, we need Brunell.

Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
Why are we looking for "the problem?" Isn't there more than just one problem? Brunell, the entire defense, the special teams, the coaches, the color white, and just about everything else worked together in a perfect storm to ruin today's game.

The way he played at the end of the game???????? WTF were you watching? He looked like crap aside from one long bomb to Lloyd. If your D gets no respite then they can't hold even a shitty offense like the Titans showed. Brunell lacks what it takes to WIN, he's showed that despite the best efforts of those around him. Start Campbell, what the mood of the whole team change. |

Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
brunell is is only part of the problem, he cant help that our team allows over 20 points a game. i dont know about our qb situation but i dont think campbell is going to be our long time answer.........dont yell at me everyone but i wished ramsey would have got a shot in the al saunders offense, he wasnt afraid to pull the trigger

Re: Can We Bench Brunell Now
25 points is about 15 too many to give up to the Titans. However, it's not ridiculous to ask for our offense to score more than 22 against the Titans. Gibbs is right, when the team plays, it either wins or loses together. Both units did everything they could to lose as a team.
