Plus these pictures are from different angles, the first he is more stretched out the second he has his arm more bent. Also the first looks like a relaxed catch and the second he is putting more effort into the catch. You cannot post two pics and compare the two as they are totaly different.

We don't need him.

Lloyd and RE are fine either one being 2 and 3.

Thrash is perfect 4.

Don't need to send those types of messages to existing crew.

Give them a shot just like the Defensive Line.

Everyone on this board was ripping them but I guess Gibbs and company felt differently about our group of guys.

Wait til you see him the guy is clearly much bigger this year. JLC from the Post has made several remarks about him on his blog about how much bigger he is.

He does look bulked up a lot. For now I'm just happy that he's done something, maybe that's why the danny said "we're proud of him," which was a comment that several people wondered about. I want this guy to make an impact on the field rather than off it, but to this point he hasn't inspired much.

Whether it's hgh or his behavior, he's more likely than anybody else on the team to get suspended (maybe ST has him there). Signing McCardell as depth is not a bad idea for vet min. Shouldn't impact the cap either as I'm sure he'd just get a 1 yr. deal.

I saw Snyder say that too in his news conference. I mean the owner singled him out, and Gibbs said something good about him in one of his recent pressers after practice. I guess someone finally got through to the guy. Or he is starting to grow up. Either way I'm excited that he is going to break out this year.

So should we consider that Sean Taylor is suffering from anorexia because I mean the guy did lose 16 pounds.

I don't think Lloyd juiced up. The guy is an athlete. He has so many things to his disposal that we don't, and I understand that includes steroids. But seriously, he could've hired a top flight personal trainer and a dietician to get to where he is now couldn't he ?

Losing 16 pounds isn't very hard at all. It's much harder to put on 20 pounds of muscle.

Again just to clarify I'm not saying Lloyd is juicing. I was just very surprised when I saw him for the first time this year. I didn't even recognize him with the new haircut and guns. I really hope it's a change for the better.

Well I wasn't trying to point you out and if you saw it that way i apologize. No one actually said yeah he's using steroids but the more posts I read the more it seemed to become a strong consideration. I mean I hope to shit that he isn't juicing because that would be a blower but I don't know. I know it's easier to lose weight just by eating right and taking a well stacked poo you'll be good. That's what my offseason consists of, excercising and eating right so when the season comes around I have nacho's, fried chicken/fish, a whole lotta chips, sausages, and of course beer room. Vodka is year round, heavy beer drinking is saved for football !

Re: WR McCardell considering return to NFL with Redskins, Texans

I'd take him in a heart beat! Think about it, who would you rather have as your number four WR: Thrash or McCardell? I hate to say this because Thrash is a "Core Redskins" and as served us so well for so many years but he is more washed up then McCardell is! Lets pretend that Lloyd winds up being terrible again this year or his attitude isn't so great (realistic may I add). Who would you rather have in your three wide out sets: Moss, ARE and McCardell or Moss, ARE, and Thrash.

I know you guys are all going to say, "Thrash...blah...blah...special teams...blah...blah..." He just doesn't contribute enough to his TRUE position of WR!

Thoughts?

Can you name any #4 wr's in the NFL that don't play teams?? It hurts you on the roster spots if you have a #4 wr that does not play teams. A #4 wr has to be able to do more than just come in for 10 or so plays a game. No way it's going to work.

How is Thrash more washed up than McCardell? Thrash is five years younger than him.

Moss, Cooley, and Betts. Somewhat serious.

In passing situations, how can you not have Portis, Betts, Moss, Cooley, and ARE all on the field. Those are your five best offensive weapons. Putting anyone else on the field would decrease our offensive potential.

You could make the arguement that McCardell>ARE at receiver, a valid statement, but the difference probably isn't big enough to mitigate ARE's versatility, especially when you are considering giving a roster spot to Keenan or not.

In today's game, the most versatile offensive players can be receivers in 3-4 receiver personel packages. Betts can be a good slot receiver, and Cooley can split wide. We should ONLY be adding receivers who are better than Lloyd/ARE, instead of just rostering more players for the sake of having more players.

Re: WR McCardell considering return to NFL with Redskins, Texans

I like the insurance that he gives versus what Thrash can give us when it comes to his overall WR skills. Let's face it, Moss - Hamstring issues, Lloyd- Attitude issues, ARE - totally fine, but can't do it alone, McCardell - formerly a #1 wide-out, Thrash - never better then a #2 WR and that was with he was with Philly and the number one was Freddy "alligator arms" Mitchell.

I agree with you that Thrash is an excellent special teams player, I would just rather have McCardell for the insurance at WR and honestly, I don't want to cut Espy. Moreover, the thought of carrying 6 WR's is just stupid.

Re: WR McCardell considering return to NFL with Redskins, Texans

Numbers don't lie...here are the last three years for both players. Does this explain why McCardell would be a better receiver then Thrash? McCardell has almost as many reception last year as thrash has had the last three years combined.

Thrash:
2004 WAS 17 203 11.9 0
2005 WAS 14 194 13.9 0
2006 WAS 12 151 12.6 1

McCardell:
2004 SDG 31 393 12.7 1
2005 SDG 70 917 13.1 9
2006 SDG 36 437 12.1 1
