Re: Name your week 1 MVP
Again, why is everyone bashing Carlos? Didn't he really only get burned once?

I agree, I voted for Rocky, he was a beast, plus lets not get it twisted now, London Fletcher makes this D go!

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
I agree. He pretty much singlehandedly drove us down the field in OT. Betts did well, but every time Clinton got the ball, it was at least five yards and he was moving the pile forward. I kept yelling for Gibbs to put him back in the game, and when I saw us open the OT with him on the field, I knew we'd win.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
Portis WAS overtime. Thirty four of the fifty-eight yards were him. That's such a crucial thing.

Everyone who saw that knows it was a horrible call.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
I thought that PI call on Carlos was pretty lame. The ball wasn't even catchable and both Chambers and Rogers were bumping each other.

Carlos made two great tackles yesterday, one on a running play, and one saving a Booker TD, and we've come to expect that from him, and thats why he deserves to stay in the starting lineup. Problem is, we are now a game into his third season, and he's still not half the cover guy Springs is. He's really got to step it up. Right now, Rogers and Smoot are going to start at corner for us next year, and that can't sit easy with anyone right now. With all the age on the offensive line, we can't really afford to invest more in the CB position. Carlos needs to start locking down his side right away. |

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
i voted for Portis, but i would have vote for the offensive line. bringing in Kendall was a great front office move. a better player then Dockery, although alot older.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
My MVP has to be Suisham. The conservative play calling put all the weight on the kicker's shoulders and he came through every time. Portis had a memorable game and so did Randle El but Suisham won the game.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
Swish. He was 3/3 and basically an unproven kicker thrust into a key situation and he came through with flying colors.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
I read his quotes and that sounds like playing scared to me. I'd like to think that he asked Suisham about & SS said there was no wind & the kick would be easy. I'd also like to think that Gibbs set him up to build his confidence. We could look back at this as crucial to his development. Hopefully.

Re: Name your week 1 MVP
Yeah, only because the ball was uncatchable, but I think Trent made that throw because he could see how physical Carlos was being. It was a veteran read trying to draw the flag. A ref is always going to call a CB holding back the WR's arm from reaching for a pass.
