Re: Your Thoughts on the D-line...
Funny how we were expecting teams to let their best players walk. Let's draft high quality and develop our own future. All the big name FA were resigned or franchised by the same teams that DRAFTED them.

Re: Your Thoughts on the D-line...
My thoughts on the d-line are:
Cut JT and his 8.5 mil salary Sign Marcus Washington to a 4 mil a yr. contract Spend the other 4.5 mil on another player like Chris Canty or Dre Bly..whoever... Halfway kidding....only halfway.....WTF..why not?

Re: Your Thoughts on the D-line...
Watch Marcus sign with someone like the Eagles, rejuvinate his career and have a probowl season. I'm not halfway kidding.

Re: Your Thoughts on the D-line...
Our D-Line is in shambles IMO. It was bad enough last year, but Griffin and Carter are a year older, and probably a year slower. Who knows if Daniels/Evans/Montgomery/Griffin will be back...their all FA's. And none of them are truly starting caliber. You think Taylor was garbage last year? I guarantee you he will try even less in what might be the last year of his career. He doesnt care about Washington DC, and he has been "dancing" his way into retirement since last year while he robs us blind of 8.5 mil this year.

Re: Your Thoughts on the D-line...
If this happens, then it is no one's fault but just how things turn out to be. He was injured a lot and would have affected our cap number had he stayed with us. If he goes to the Eagles (or any other team) and succeeds then good for him, but I hope people don't come back and b!tch about it.

And you're guaranteeing that Jason is going to have a garbage year? You're that tight with him that he told you that? Maybe you should convince him to retire then.

Call me "psychic that I thought a 34 year old DE who spent his whole off season promoting his celebrity status might not work out. Call me "psychic" that I didn't think a player who was traded 3 weeks before our first game would be an instant impact. Call me "psychic" that I was very unhappy that our largest DE was 250lbs. Call me "psychic" that I was uncomfortable with the fact that Parcells wanted to get rid of him, and not even for a 1st rounder. Hey and you know what, since I'm apparently "psychic" I will magically predict that a man who just sucked the previous season, has no loyalty to his team, is old as dirt, is going to retire next season and who is unwilling to take a paycut will not deliver on the field? If it was about anything but the money for Taylor at this point he would recognize that he is getting extremely overpaid and take the cut to help out his team. Seriously, If it's not worth it for him to play for 6 million, when he is still worth less, it's clearly all about the money. When a player doesnt give a shit in his final season, he will suck. Period. Oh and BTW, I told him to retire now, but he said back to me that 8.5 mil in easy money was worth one more season...but no less. |

Re: Your Thoughts on the D-line...
I don't doubt he could come back strong. The big question is can he stay healthy.

Re: Your Thoughts on the D-line...
I really wasn't advocating that we should have kept Mr. Washington. I was simply stating that it would be our luck that this scenario could happen. Seems that when we part ways with a good player he goes elsewhere (particularly a division rival) and has a career year just to spite the redskins.
