Re: Now What??
Alright, there are a couple of options if you have a smart person running this franchise(not HC but overall franchise). Firing Zorn is not an option at this point in the season. But what I would do first of all if I was Snyder is call Zorn into my office. I would sit down with him and say look, you aren't getting it done. Now I've got 3 options here for you. 1. You Resign. 2. I fire you or 3. You give up the play calling duties so you can focus on the tangibles. If you want to make some of the calls, thats your perogative as the HC, but I want someone else calling the plays. This team is talented and you are not exploiting the talent with your play calling.

I hope they turn the play calling over to someone else, it needs to happen. |

Re: Now What??
The whole team sucks, you all bash belicheck, but theres no way he would let them pay 100 mil for one player, he trades ex starts for future first round picks and we give jason taylor a 2nd for one year. What a joke of a franchise

Re: Now What??
We looked a hell of a lot worse through the first three games in '01. I'm not suggesting that we'll turn this around and win 8 of our last 11 or anything, but we might as well wait until the end of the season to make any huge changes.
And it needs to be said, even if Zorn is the worst coach in the history of the NFL, we need to remember that the game is played on the field, not on the sidelines. The players are as responsible as any of the coaches. |

Re: Now What??
fire coach z! the redskins are the laughing stock of the league this season because of coach z terrible head coaching decisions. first of all he doesn't trust portis. He didn't even get 20 touches. Unless JC is making decisions in the hurry up skins can't score. Thats all on the QB, the coach just watches like we watch. So clearly, Z's play calling doesn't work for his QB and offense. FIRE his azz immediately Synder!

Re: Now What??
What now? Well, this is where GTripp works his magic and shows everyone that the problems weren't all Zorns and JC. He points out that certain players didn't make plays. He shows that if they work hard on correcting their mistakes then we will be fine. In other words calming everyone down by pointing out the positives instead of the negatives which causes half the board to hold on to their faith that Zorn will figure this thing out and we will make the play offs.
No offense GTripp. I like you work. I'll just keep praying Zorn is done sometime this yr. If we decide to cut Zorn during the season then we need a WCO HC. If we wait....we can try to pick anyone. |

Re: Now What??
If Betts gets cut (which I hope he does) I would play Mason and Alridge a lot.

Vinny, Blache and Betts, that's all.

Re: Now What??
the defense got pushed around but i didn't see guys blowing assigments. is that the coordinators fault? their guys just played better. rogers just couldn't hold down det. wr's. he was in position, their guys were just better today. bryan johnson just played better than rogers.

During the game, I'm not sure what Zorn could have done differently. Campbell had no protection all day, and he put the football on the ground way too many times and a lot of his throws under pressure were uncharacteristically careless. I think Zorn sort of pussed out on some 3rd and short calls in the 3rd and 4th quarter, but that's not why we lost. The defense is awful. I have no idea what's wrong with Carlos Rogers. He's always had trouble with bigger, more physical receivers, but when was the last time he went a whole game without making a play? Smoot is awful. Hall is only good when compared to Smoot. The run defense in this game was horrific, and that will probably be the focus of the defensive game review. Fletcher played hard, and Haynesworth was incredible, but the defensive line as a whole got it's ass kicked. I'm thinking (but will wait to confirm) that Golston is a major problem. Daniels has been terrible two out of three weeks. McIntosh may or may not have done poorly, but he didn't show up in the stat sheet at all. Bottom line, it's easy to control the clock when you can run the ball on both first and second down and have no doubt that if the defense slows you down at all, they'll just give you an easy completion on third down. It was our worst offensive performance of the three games this season, but it was quite possible our worst defensive performance of the last 6 years.
