Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner
Maybe Joe Gibbs can bring respectablity back to the Skins for the duration of the year.
Heck...who thought we'd be respected again after Danny's clowns with Spurriers gators. All it took was a half a season without Gibbs to have everything start to collapse again. I really think a lot of you have underestimated how well Gibbs did under the circumstances....to me....if the best Gibbs could do is win a playoff game...thats as good as is possible under the current management. The only person that could do as well or better would be Parcells...and he aint going anywhere....and to be honest...I don't like him. I am pretty worried about the next 3-4 years unless something major is changed...and I am not just talking about a new coach

Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner
C'mon Skins fans passionate? For having the largest NFL stadium since 1996 until 2009 Skins fans don't make a whole lot of noise for 90,000+. I have to agree that we are pushovers. Detroiters got pissed, and yes for 3-4 years came to games with paper bags and signs saying fire Millen, etc, but at least they kept up the campaign and quit coming to games. I went to the Lions game this season and you know what? There were easily around 15,000 empty seats at Ford Field. Only the diehards came or area Skins fans like me. What do some lazy bastards in here do? Change their frigging avatar? Oh boy, that is going to scare Snyder into putting things right now!!!!!! If you have season ticks, don't renew, don't buy overpriced NFL crap, etc. If you go to the games and are truly pissed at this crappy operation wear a bag over your head. Why? You work your ass off 40+ days a week, while these lame asses play shitty football while you are paying up the wazoo to see them, eat there, etc. Snyder could bring Dungy back, but if the same FO is in place Dungy will go down like Gibbs did. Fire Cerrato and Hire a GM should be the theme.

Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner
Somehow it still feels like the offseason around here. I think that's the culture that Snyder has fostered that instead of looking to the next game, we're looking towards the next press conference.
In the past 10 days 'sources' have said that Shanahan, Gruden and Holmgren are all done deals. 'Sources' have said that Ceratto will be promoted/demoted and that he will be left in place. 'Sources' have said that Shanahan would work with Vinny and won't work with Vinny. Anyone else exhausted? I think the anticipation and rumors are more exasperating than the games! I hadn't been this engrossed in Redskins drama since the Cutler/Sanchez days.

Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner
I like to watch games just to see where we go wrong. Things are looking up though, Jim Zorn said that we are getting close....

Jim Zorn also said we're an improving team right after we lost to Detroit. Fail.

Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner
Do you think that if the NFL gave us all 96 timeouts that we get for the year in week one that we would use them all by week 9?

Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner
I don't think Gruden will have a problem getting any player he wanted. Gibbs got everyone he wanted, Spurrier brought in almost everyone he's ever coached in Florida
Also, I remember before the 2001 draft Synder was drooling over Santana Moss, but Schottenheimer coveted the bust Rob Gardener and we end up drafting him, even though Snyder wanted Moss. What I'm saying is, Gruden will get his players, Synder has relented in the past.

despite the highest money spent on the roster, nobody wants our guys except maybe cooley.. nobody else is worth taking the contract of, we need to look at how we do that while we're speaking of FO inadequacies.. it gets us by year to year but holds us back big time, you can't trade for picks, you have to wait 2 years to cut a guy that you couldn't even get a 7th round pick for, etc |

Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner
I can't belive some of you are even talking about Tebow being our next QB. What a joke. Do any of you honestly think he's got the talent to be an NFL passer? C'mon!!! Stop the nonsense.

Re: Sources: Gruden the front runner
I think he has the talent to be an NFL player, full-time QB I'm not sure. I think people dismiss him because he's unconventional but it could work. Again, he's not my top choice if we were to draft a QB.

Tebow is a leader, a physical specimen, and can sling the ball. He may not have a pretty delivery, but just because Kiper and McShay aren't sold on him doesn't mean he won't be any good. He's certainly not the "joke" you think he is. Chad Bradford is a fragile statue, and I'm not so sure about Colt McCoy either. If I had to guess, I'd say Tony Pike will be the best pro QB out of the current senior class. Case Keenum is pretty darn good too, but he's a junior.
