Horton is not a FS as he gets roasted in coverage situations. He had a great start to his career but he is not who you want as the last line of defense or covering a good pass catching tight end.
IMO Rogers is just too good as a cornerback to play around with back there. I would rather go with a FA if we really need to upgrade there.

I still think that Landry can play that position and he is currently our best FS. Hopefully Haslett can coach him up.

how can you judge horton on one year? who knows what he can do we honestly haven't seen enough of him to know what his potential

and rogers is too good of a cover corner? according to who, byron westbrook?

as far as landry goes i agree with you i think he is our best safety he has shown great talent and ability, he just needs to harness it hopefully some new coaching with a better game plan will help him out. cause where he is at now is a huge dissapointment from where we drafted him

It's a possibility. He's get decent enough size and physicality. I agree that having the plays in front of him may help his ball tracking. Offseason is a good time to experiment with it. The key question is whether he's willing to try the move.

You know that Landry is bad at run support (see runs by Steven Jackson and Michael Turner) and couldn't chase down Jason Witten, which are two things SS should at least be competent in? His athleticism is not any sort of actual insurance that makes him deserving a starting spot over Horton or Doughty.

Do you remember what Jackson did to ST in 2006? Jackson is one of the best runningbacks in football and put up good numbers as the ONLY threat on the team.

Landry is faster than Witten.

Landry also had several disgusting plays against Dallas in Dallas. There is always a play here or there to use as evidence against a play but Landry is on another planet compared to those two guys. It isn't even close.

Exactly, you can't judge a player on a few plays.

By 40 times, yes.

But on that play, he got beat and stayed beat.

If Gradkowski stayed in, there was a good chance Landry would have made the wrong end of the highlight reel, but fat JaMarcus is so bad that he was spared.

Is Sharper a FS or SS? He'll be an UFA this offseason. Although I'm sure he wont come cheap and/or the Saints may try to keep him.

He's a FS and He will be expensive but won't leave New Orleans IMO, they'll offer him a load of money since he's there number 1 priority FA to keep, and if worse comes to worse contract wise, they'll franchise him
