I'm just guessing it was in the "Sports" section and the thought was to stir the pot and get more readers and again I'll say bad judgement on the editors.
Uhhh... It wasn't published anywhere in the Washington Post - - Sunday or weekday, Sports section or Opinion section. It was published in City Paper.

I'm not trying to be a punk but some of the stuff you're correcting is kind of nitpicking. Like the Brian Mitchell thing.. you didn't refute that's what happened, just said that he apologized and whatnot. That's not really an inaccuracy at all. With the Sherman Smith/Jim Zorn thing who's to say that Snyder/Cerrato didn't bring him into the picture for Gibbs? The Cerrato radio deal, yeah that's all true, it's not being refuted because another GM has a radio show.

The article didn't really bring anything new to the table we hadn't all heard of. It's not like he came out of nowhere and claimed something that had us all aghast.

Well some things are simply not true, like the Herzog situation. Some things didn't start with Snyder, like the questionable waiting list.

But my point with some of the other stuff is McKenna's just piling stuff on to show what a terrible owner Snyder is, but failing to acknowledge what became of certain situations, what corrections occurred, and failing to acknowledge that in some cases other successful teams have done the same. If I was his editor I would have said just focus on some things and drill down on them. I mean I get it, he was putting together a list and to do that he count get too detailed but a recurring theme is Snyder never learns, but in several examples he did learn. You wouldn't know it from the article though.

I don't see in the lawsuit where specifically he's calling for McKenna to be fired, though I suspect he certainly would be if he is shown to have deliberately falsely accused Snyder of some of the more egregious (felony) issues here.

I have no idea what you're talking about with the Zorn, smith thing.

Certainly he could've gone more concentrated but his A-Z thing seems to be conducive to more than less, for better or worse. There are a lot of things where he "learned" or at least "acknowledged" that a lot of the public wasn't privy to. Some of it doesn't even matter; not everyone gets the excuse of "well he learned" or "well he apologized" or similar, to me that doesn't exactly cross-out the wrongdoing. In the lawsuit I doubt that it would actually include a statement calling for the termination of his employment, I would think that that would be covered more so by the paper recognizing the liability of keeping him under employ.

The Zorn/Smith thing.. I had never heard that Snyder forced Saunders into the Gibbs regime though it did strike me as eerie that Gibbs all of a sudden said I need someone else to call plays/run the offense. But looking back at the Sherman Smith/Jim Zorn debacle I could easily believe that Saunders was definitely a Snyder/Cerrato doing.

I don't think the accuracy or inaccuracies in the article are the point. Dan adds fuel to the fire by acting this way. Trying to sue and get somebody fired is bringing NATIONAL attention to a small local story that is dead and buried in the past. Dan brought it back to life. Why? Ego? Dumb ego.

Well I don't know how recently the call was made by Donovan to the paper's parent company. And I don't know that they'll actually sue, they just threaten to. It seems to me like Snyder was pushed over the edge one too many times by false information. But I agree he should have let it just blow over. Dave McKenna is not someone worth wasting your time over.

Until this team starts winning on a consistent basis, DS will get shit from everyone. Honestly he deserves some of it, we have been a damn joke since he bought the team

Some, but not all of it. And we were a joke even before he bought the team. We've been a losing franchise more often than not. We didn't go from Super Bowl champs in 1992 to Snyder owning the team. There were many years in between of poor play on the field and poor decision off it.

SS Snyder is a smart man. Let's not make excuses for him about how he was led one way or another. He hasn't really matured as a owner for the Skins. If he has, then we are taking hella tiny baby steps.

Re: Snyder Camp Upset!!

Dan Snyder is a first class moron. The guy is hated for a reason. He's a prick, a bully, and money fiend that will suck the energy and life out of a organization all for a measly buck. He is going to fail miserably on this lawsuit, and it's just going to spurn yet more investigative work into his past since it'll all be brought up in the lawsuit. Skeletons in the closet he had wished remained closed.

Reading David Donovan's letter to the paper, it wreaked of a school yard bully trying to intimidate the company into doing their will or suffer the consequences. Just read the parts talking about

https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/fbe...==&system=prod

Quote:
"Mr. Snyder has more than sufficient means to protect his reputation and defend himself and his wife against your paper's concerted attempt at character assassination. We presume that defending such litigation would not be a rational strategy for an investment funds such as yours. Indeed, the cost of litigation would presumably quickly outstrip the assest value of the Washington City Paper."
This screams pure bully to me. I HAVE MORE MONEY THAN YOU SO YOU BETTER DO MY BIDDING OR ELSE!! David Donovan is a pure douche bag just like Dan Snyder so it's no wonder he's employed by him.

The actual lawsuit:
https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/fbe...==&system=prod

I enjoyed the part where Danny uses the "race" card as well.

Quote:
Can you imagine how you would react if you were vilified by anti-semantic caricature of you? I will not elborate on the views of the assistant director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, Rabbi Cooper, regarding your paper's caricature of Mr. Snyder other than that he said that such images have been used to demean Jews since the Middle Ages and h found it to be extremely insulting, offensive, and disturbing.
Are you shitting me? This asshole has the audacity and nerve to play the race card? Here is a clue you ****ing dipshit. YOUR TEAM IS NAMED THE REDSKINS AND IT'S OFFENSIVE TO SOME NATIVE AMERICANS. ****ing hypocritical piece of shit.

USATODAY.com - Indians challenge use of 'Redskins' name

It's fine if this asshole offends other people, but good lord if somebody draws a picture of him depicting him as a devil then it must be racially motivated. The irony and hypocrisy in him is laughable at best.

Also, let's take a look at some other notable people with horn scribble on their picture.

Guess what asshole? The drawing wasn't because you are a Jewish, it's because you are a dirtbag that has run this wonderful franchise into the ground.

Re: Snyder Camp Upset!!

Even if you took the win loss record and poor FO management out of the equation, my whole opinion of Dan Snyder fell in the toilet when he tried sue season ticket holders who fell into hard times due to the recession and defaulted on their season ticket obligations. Why squeeze people that have fallen on hard times?
Plus those season ticket holders give up their rights to the seats and Dan sells the seats to someone else. No harm no foul. It seemed really greedy and money hungry to sue them. That was a really poor business decision and just dumb.

Well in all fairness to Napoleon that story was kind of blown up by the media. The women that was losing her home was going to lose it anyway, regardless of whether or not they Redskins sued her.

Dont let the facts get in the way.

As for Leonsis, much different thing to own the Caps, Wizards, and Mystics vs Redskins, he's got issues with the Washington Post as well, and has said he will be less fan friendly and accesible moving forward bc too many fans are basically petty assholes.

His approach is much different than any owner I've ever known in any sport. I wonder how long he'll be willing to continue directly indulging his critics.
