You're right about that. And the Skins mostly have had middle of the draft selections. What should be done differently to buck the trends?

Our WR core is sound with Moss, Gaffney, Hankerson, and Stallworth. Add Fred Davis and Chris Cooley and the Redskins will have a dynamic passing attack.
I actually hope they have given up on Torain. So-so vision, no top-end agility or speed(a must since our OL gets blown up quite a few times), and very little power. He doesn't contribute on special teams, either.

What? It wasn't mindless, its true. Wake up buddy, because I'm watching the same DHall I've been seeing for the past 3 years with us, he s the one who doesn't tackle well and gets beat. If you watched the game today, you'll see he stood there like a statue when Gronkowski had that huge run along the sideline with broken tackles. And again, if you saw the same game I saw today, DHalls penalties cost us on some drives, like I dunno maybe throwing an officials flag is a penalty?

He said a few weeks ago that he deserves to be cut. I say after this year we grant him his wish, because he isn't a positive to our defense or team.

And for those who question my earlier post saying I was two-sided on this post; I'll elaborate some more.

I'm a numbers/percentage/chance kind of guy. The higher we draft, the better player we get. It's historically proven that if you draft in the top 5 you have a > chance of getting a better player than say the top 10. Lets be real Skins fans, this team we have isn't good. We all can agree we need a QB. Best case 3 'great' ones come out; worst case 1 comes out. We need a QB to win us games. We can win games now, but its all a bunch of BS that we can build on that for next season. Players come and go. Its a whole 7(atleast) months until those players get back on the field. Half of them won't even remember or care that they won or lost, they want to get their season started, to start a new. So really skins fans, you say you shouldn't wish for your team to lose, but when you've nearly hit rock bottom, what is, say, one win going to do, especially if its another crap team. "Oh we suck, but we aren't the 1st crappy team in the league, we're the 3rd out of 32 teams..."

I'm bashing this team to point out to others what some major weaknesses are that we have which we still don't fix, year after, year after year.

I honestly am bitter sweet about this game because I hate the patriots more than I hate the cowboys. If we had beaten them I would have been happy only because we had hurt there chances from being a bye team to a wildcard team. And because we defeated the Mr. Perfect Tom Brady. But at the same token, no one picked us to win this game, so it was expected for us to lose, And we would have hurt our draft position by as many as 4 spots. If we have to trade up to get a good QB like Barkley or Griffin, that's more future players we trade away pick wise to get one of those guys...

Well, I certainly hope that Mike Shanahan hasn't given up on Ryan Torain. I like Torain. If you look at how he ran the ball last season, he was very effective. But in the NFL, it's all about what have you done for me lately. Torain had a great game against the Rams when he bulldozed for lots of rushing yardage, but has rode the pine after being ineffective in a couple of games. Honestly, I think Mike Shanahan is evaluating his running backs and realizes what he already has in Torain. Evan Royster, I'm thinking, will get a long look during these final weeks of the season.

That hit on Harrison wasn't even to McCoy's head though. You could argue that it was late but it wasn't helmet to helmet. It's like everytime a QB gets hit hard the refs throw a flag.

See I am not a Hall apologist, but I am just amazed at how much people hate on him for stupid things. If you look at that play from Hall's perspective, it looked like Gomes and Doughty were going to push Gronkowski out of bounds. At full speed, it looked like Gronkowski was going out of bounds, if Halls leap towards him and Gronkowski is out of bounds, that's a 15-yard PF. BTW, it was Hall that eventually ran down Gronkowski during that play.

The flag thing was a stupid mistake and he deserves all the heat for it. But where is the Haynesworth/McNabb treatment for Hall from Shanahan, if he's such a team cancer? Shouldn't Shanahan have benched Hall the same way he benched Williams for that stupid PF during the Eagles game? Once again, I am not apologizing for the guy, but I feel that some people blow his situation out of proportion.

Hall is what he is and it sucks. As a player he is very frustrating b/c he can go from making a good play on moment and making a terrible player the next. One thing is criticizing the guy for this, another is to this childish/girlish/pouty hate for the guy and b*tch at every single thing he does. Take that mindless sh*t elsewhere.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Patriots)

I'd like to add a smack down to Shanahan for not benching Hall after the flag incident. I thought he did well when he benched Williams for the personal foul in the Philly game. While I understand players were frustrated with the refs (London Fletcher came within seconds of getting flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, although I can't blame the guy for reacting the way he did), he's basically letting the flag situation slide. There was no need for that and he is allowing that type of behavior to go unpunished.

As Ruh said, I'm not really going to hate on Hall for that Gronk run. I mean it looked like the play was dead. Even Wes Welker, who never ever accuses of being lazy, was basically loafing and not trying to block Hall out of the way until everyone realized Gronk was still in bounds.

I'd also like to mention that Fed Ex Field has basically become a home game for the opposing team. Very very sad.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Patriots)

Orakpo strikes me as someone who is contented to do things one way because doing them that way has gotten him to the level he is now. And I think really good, fundamentally sound, offensive tackles who have good footwork and balance, can use their size advantages against him to take him out of the game.

When we blitz, Orakpo typically gets home to the quarterback before anyone else in the rush scheme. He takes on the back really well, and is still likely our best pure pass rusher. He is not the complete player that Ryan Kerrigan is, and the truth is that based on the position he plays in our defense, he needs to be more complete than Kerrigan because he is asked to do more.

Im gonna hate more on our safeties for that play, but still doesnt excuse Hall. How can two NFL safeties not able to tackle one tight end? I mean wft planet do i live on where that safety play is deem acceptable.
