Me too. I actually hate the Panthers more. Their "fans" disappear in non-playoff seasons but were everywhere during the Super Bowl season.

Because football is a violent game and the players in the Pro Bowl are not going to play it violently since it means NOTHING.

Watch the game from last weekend. Look at the pass coverage and the tackling on running plays. Look at the "pass-rush" presented by the defensive linemen - - nominally the best in the league.

The Pro Bowl is flag football without the flags. Hard to make that a compelling contest...

Then let the NFL get U2 to play, not the Pineapple Players or whoever it was. If football isn't the show, make up for it with something else. A 2-bit band with a 2-bit game is just...2-bit.

Agree completely; the Pro Bowl is a 2-bit extravaganza...

However, for a reason I cannot begin to explain, this year's Pro Bowl drew a big TV audience.

Beats the s[p]it out of me...

Well, there goes my hope that things will change. As long as it gets good ratings the NFL doesn't care.

I watched until Cam Newton finally made me sick with his (non) performance!:vomit:

I watched because, by this point, I am starved for some football and figured the Pro Bowl was better than most of the other TV alternatives. I suspect that many NFL fans feel the same way. Just have to get every morsel of football before the season runs out!

They could ease up on some of the rules. No I don't mean letting a db tackle a receiver before the ball gets there, but allow creativity on offense and defense. Let them run a 6 wideout, 3 o-linemen, 2 qb scheme if they want to. Allow them to stack 4 receivers on one side of the field. They should encourage creativity instead of stifling it by making the defense play a 4-3 at all times, and mandating one tight end on the field for every offensive play. Everybody knows defense is going to be lax in the game anyways, let them have fun with it.

The way it is right now is a joke. And bring back the skills contest, but replace the dumb skills events with fun abnormal things that test them athletically. I can't wait to see the ratings for the Pro Bowl this year, because I know the NFL put the PB before the SB specifically to encourage ratings. If the ratings are bad that'll at least give me encouragement that the NFL will try to figure out new innovative ways to make the game more fun again.

In September, he was 18 of 32 for 268 yards and 1 int. He also fumbled once. In December, Manning went 23 of 40 for 257 yds, no tuchdowns and THREE ints!

Neither Manning performance reflects championship caliber that we have seen in the late season push by the Giants. Granted Eli has delivered when it counts, but he is capable of laying an egg, and even sometimes panics under a heavy rush. New England's defense is on the upswing, and IMHO, Manning is due for a bad game. My early impression, Patriots win by 14.

Redskin fans may want to chew on this tidbit as well. Game one, Grossman was 21 of 34 for 305 yds and 2 TDs; he also lost one fumble in the 28-14 Redskin win. In game two Sexy Rexy was 15 of 24 for 185 yds, 1 TD and 2 ints. You could fairly say that Rex outperformed Eli in both games.
The Redskins beat the New York Giants twice and should have beaten the Patriots. That said, I don't care who wins the Super Bowl although I expect New England to win it.

Lol, even the Pro Bowl had a couple records broken. What a wonky season this season has been.

Not sure if that's real beyond the "logo" part being changed on the uniforms. Don't think I've seen anything official about any uniform changes. In fact, the guy in the article below he's heard info from a 2nd hand source. In other words, totally rumor and nothing confirmed.

I think a black helmet would be sweet, but they should incorporate the grey as well.

I'm glad I'm not a Panthers fan. That would be hard to root for.
