Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
He's also made 2 pro-bowls (as shitty as that is) and how many has LL made? The only reason LL hasn't been benched because his replacements are shittier.

Plenty of time exists to make this look like an attempt at buying low on a guy who might be on his last chance. But without a subsequent move, then a buy low opportunity based on potential "he'll play if he does what we know he can" becomes foolish "he'll play well because we picked him up." So let's table my reaction on this one til we have a complete picture of the plan.

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
Whoever said draft a safety in the third rd has a pretty good idea. We def need another prototypical safety, even if Barnes converts to one.
...so RT in the 2nd rd and safety in the 3rd. Guard in the 4th...

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
im ok with the signing, low risk high reward. but i think we need to still address this position whether it be picking up reggie nelson at FS or drafting one in the 3rd. IMO i think Barnes is below average at best as a player, he always seems to be out of position and when he is he is always flailing around and missing tackles.

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
I think we were more in love with Landry's potential than his actual results on the field. For every two or three great plays, he'd give up one back breaker.
He just didn't play enough. Great players are on the field to help their teams. **** potential. And given how he's bulked up, I'd be shocked if he finishes this season. |

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
Totally agree, but choices are scarce this go round. Look to fill the need in the draft.

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
i think we should draft robert gallery in the 2nd round or trade for steve hutchinson. but seriously, i'm kind of glad carlson signed with the vikings. a 2 te set with davis and cooley sounds doable. i want ross or newman, the rest we can find in the draft

I like LL but let's face it, the guy just hasn't been able to stay healthy the last 2 years.

He's become a liability though and we all have to accept that the end has come and move on. The Skins have. We should too. There are so many could-have-beens for EVERY team in the NFL. LaRon, Thomas/Kelly, Arrington, Heath Shul... ![]() Sorry, that guy still sickens me to think about.

Re: Redskins Sign S Brandon Meriweather
Like Dan Graziano said on twitter, you could be Ronnie Lott but if you arent on the field you arent helping anyone. In that regard just about any player is an upgrade to Landry.
I do agree that this isnt the solution but more like 1 possible solution.
