Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
The Raiders do have young talent on their roster worth trading a player for. But knowing Shanahan, he will want a draft pick for Gaffney. More than likely a 7th rounder would do. But seeing as though Jeremy Jarmon was a 3rd round pick that we traded to Denver for Gaffney for, and seeing as though the Redskins are going to get a mid to late round pick for Gaffney makes Jarmon's 2009 3rd round supplemental selection so worthless......

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
We will be lucky to trade him. I read his tweets and that's some classic material. BWAHAHAHA.

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Get it done, Bruce.
I had us giving a third last year for Samuel. As it ended up, we got a first-second round value WR to fall to us in the third round, a steal we couldn't have gotten if we had traded that pick for three years of Samuel's career. So I'm just as happy with the pick we made as I would have been if we poached Samuel. I don't think Haslett wants him though (even though he fits our base scheme) because coaches never like being limited in man coverage calls by those secondary members. And as weak as Hall is in coverage, he's not a guy who NEEDS to be in zone or NEEDS to be in man to succeed. Samuel needs to be in zone to be worth the money he's getting.

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
They are saying the Eagles will take whatever they can get for him, 6th or 7th round pick. If that's all people are offering would they trade within the division to us if we offered a 5th round? Would he be worth a 4th? We have two...

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Asante Samuel is a decent corner back. He always has been. But the guy isn't worth anything more than 4-5 million $$$$$ a year if he comes to Washington. He's trying to go to a team that will pay him the most money as possible. Jabar Gaffney is a solid veteran receiver, but trading him for Samuel is not an even trade.

Stop talking like Jabar Gaffney is some prize. Any person in their right mind would trade Gaffney for Asante Samuel straight up.

Re: Jabar Gaffney Told to Seek A Trade
Jabar Gaffney has been in the league since 2002 and never eclipsed the 700 yard mark until 2009, never had 60 receptions until 2009, and only had 5 tds once outside of this season. What a great asset. pssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhh

If we got Samuel for Gaffney straight up? Steal on our part. Not even close.
