So what does that mean that kickoff is still the same, more advertising dollars coming in since it was announced RG is playing?
Sometimes it's really annoying to hear announcers who don't know or like the skins but only care about Rob and talk about him the entire game, even when he isn't playing as did tirico and gruden vs the steelers 2 weeks ago.

I would rather listen to redskin broadcast during games but its not even synced to the action. Why can't Cooley join Fox and have 1 less cowboy in the rotation of skins games?

Um, not sure about that little tangent you went off on. But the start of game coverage is 5 minutes earlier mainly because of this new open:

Peter Berg Unveils ESPN's New 'Monday Night Football' Intro (Exclusive) - The Hollywood Reporter

The 6:55 time has been in place for a while. Schefter's tweet was meant to be a reminder, but it came off wrong

Hey, that's 1.5 to 2 beers. Thought it pertinent.

Not trolling DRave. An unshakable belief in three things (1) this team's deep talent and chemistry for which RGIII is the catalyst; (2) RGIII's Michael Jordanesque talent and insanely competitive drive - winning is not enough for this son of sargents conquering is the standard, anything less will not be tolerated; and finally (3) the fragile eggshell of a team that the Eagles are - when it starts to go south for them they simply have nowhere to dig down and find the strength to overcome. They are a team bereft of real character and leadership. They will pointing fingers and arguing on the sidelines by the end of the first half. Their implosion as a team will leave the talking heads speechless.

That would just be icing on the cake.

Re: Skins vs Eagles week 1

I have no ideal how to call this game.We looked great in preseason but the teams we played were no test, they all sucked. The 4 teams we played were a combined 4-12
How does RG3 respond, will the adrenaline be flowing too much? I can see him overthrowing receivers because he's so excited and that could be turnovers.
I think the offense will score some points but I dont think the defense was tested with the shitty teams we played in preseason,so how they respond will be key.The eagles will def test us more than anyone we faced in preseason
I think the game will be close, down to the last possession

Important thing about our pre-season, and yes overall it's meaningless, is that our offense was effective even without most of the 1st string. Point being that our whole team, especially offense, is on the same page, and executing efficiently. I don't see the Eagles defense as particularly better than any of the starting defenses in preseason, and putting Griffin, Morris and Garcon on the field together is going to be to much for the Eagles. If anything, I worry we get a big lead early, and then let off the gas, and the Eagles make a comeback.

Two things:

(1) Even with a big lead, I just don't see Griffin as the type to allow the team to ease up. Just generally, he's too smart and too competitive for that. In addition, this is his "I told you so" moment in front of a national audience. I am certain he has been waiting eight months to erase the image of him collapsing on the field and the bad taste of losing. We will undoubtedly lose games this season - this will not be one of them. If RGIII has anything to say, this team will be making a statement Monday night. "It's our night!"

(2) I really mean it when I say the Eagles don't have character. When a team's leaders are Vick and D. Jackson, that team is simply not going to have the strength/resiliency to rally back. In the past, and for all his multitude of faults, Reid was the glue - taking the blame when things went wrong, absolving players, etc. Don't see Kelly doing that. I really think the Eagles are vastly overrating themselves & Kelly's system and underrating the leadership dearth on their team.

I agree about the offense,my main concern is I dont think the defense was tested by those teams

The defense practices daily against one of the best offenses in the league.

How much more testing do they need?

Since the bye week last year, and through the pre-season, the defense really stepped up. My biggest concern is Fletcher getting hurt, because he truly commands the defense on the field, and Merriweather going against the Eagles because the number of snaps they will take will be hard on his recovery. Otherwise, every level of the defense is capable of stopping the threat that the Eagles can bring. Of course they will get a couple big scrambles, and runs by McCoy, and even probably a long one to Jackson, but a consistent offense that matches our points, I don't see it.

RGIII always brings his best when the lights are brightest. Still can't believe anyone has any doubts about the guy.
