Re: Around the League...Training Camp Style!

I don't necessarily agree that Griffin has been consistently taking shots. He took some shots after Shanahan was fired, I don't think anyone will deny that. But some people think everything that comes out of Griffin's mouth is a shot at Shammy, and that's just not the case.

I'd argue that Shanny's shots were far worse, because they were petulant and retaliatory in nature. He had the perfect chance to be the bigger man, and he failed miserably. Fits perfectly with the Ivory tower, spiteful, vindictive image that's been painted of Shan in the past.

I think Shanahan's PR drive to absolve him from any blame at the end of last season should be enough to keep him from coaching any other team. Any smart owner should realize that this wasn't the old Redskins situation and that he was fully in charge of everything, yet did not get it done.

Agreed. He successfully benched Griffin for the final however many games, so saying Griffin has all control is patently false. Shanny was taking shots at the end of the year last year, especially when it became clear he probably would not return.

Because it was a traumatic season for the organization last year?

I'm not the one that brought it up :p

I almost feel bad for people when they have to defend a terrible position in the media. I wonder if Adolpho Birch was forced to defend the suspension as part of his job or if he actually believed it was the right thing to do on top of actively playing a role in Rice being limited to two games.

Regardless these are the type of things that people have an easy time justifying in back rooms but when they're brought out into the spotlight they're essentially F'd.

I'd suggest boycotting as many NFL money making purchases and activities as people can manage as an outright boycott is physically imp.o...ssi....ble, kind of like the physicality Ray Rice used on his wife. Remember kids, always observe the third rule of Fight Club.

You expect maybe the head guy to react and explain a company's unpopular position, not a no name dipshit like Adolpho; no offense to Adolpho of course.

They will eventually but usually it's the relative unknowns that get trotted out first to tote the company line. Of course at this rate I expect to see a story like this within the next week

ESPeN - Ray Rice's Fiance Suspended for 2 Years for Conduct Detrimental to the League

On a lighter note, Andre Reed is quickly rising on my list of former non-Redskin NFL players I really like:

Report: Josh Gordon 'barely' failed drug test, will argue 2nd-hand smoke - CBSSports.com

Let me be clear, based on lectures from my stoner friends back during my college days it downright difficult to fail a drug test with second hand smoke. The internets backs up my stoner friends.

Quote:
Will Second Hand Smoke Show up in Drug Test?

It is very unlikely that second hand smoke will make you fail a drug test. However, it can leave traces of the active chemical in the marijuana, tetrahydracannabinol, or THC for short. This amount of THC is not likely to alert most drug tests. In addition, most drug tests are highly sophisticated, and can avoid those false positives that might come from second hand smoke inhalation.
With that said, given the fact that people are currently up in arms over the NFL being tougher on recreational drug use then they are on domestic violence I say go in for the kill.

You're very kind. It only makes me like the guy more. And I do recall him playing in B&G.

Ravens fans give Ray Rice a standing ovation - The Washington Post

Just to put this in perspective. When attending Braves games in 2000 I witnessed first hand another controversial figure that would frequently receive standing ovations.

Hint: It was this guy

Stay classy Baltimore.

Is it surprising? People still worship Joe Paterno as sad as it is.
