Re: Best QB on our roster for the current team and system
Colt can not consistently push the ball down field. He can't stretch the field. See Dallas first half last year. I love his competitiveness and all, and to me he is the perfect backup. If he has to play for a long period of time he'll be exposed, see St. Louis last year.

This article pretty much sums up our QB situation.

A buddy got me my RG3 one. When my aforementioned mate asked me when I would get mine I told him "I am going to wait until his third year before I decide to get one. I just want to see if he works out, here. Besides if he doesn't I don't wantca constant reminder of the biggest bust in team history." Couple of weeks later he walks up to me pops a #10 jersey in my hands and says "here you go. I have a feeling he will be around for a long time. Theres no way he's a fluke." ![]() Despite I still don't regret having Griffin's jersey. The only one I do is Jason Taylors #55. You know its bad when a fellow Skins fans, upon seeing it, says "man I bet you wish you could return that shirt." And he was right. :_(

Re: Best QB on our roster for the current team and system
Robert has all off season to learn Jay's offense so this should not be a issue of knowing the system. I understand that practicing and playing live game action is another story. That's why you practice so when the game starts everything is done on memory and reaction. Robert still needs to play loose and let the game come to him. If RG3 doesn't play well with the 1st team and Kirk plays well I think you have to think about making a change a QB for Week 1. Maybe its better for RG3 to sit and wait for Kirk or Colt to get injured or poor play to get another chance to start. I want RG3 to play well but I don't know how the coaches or players feel about him as a person. When RG3 was winning people tolerated him , but since he is down everyone is taking shots at him now. They love you when your winning but if you start losing then your a bum. RG3 was beloved by Redskins Nation his rookie year but many fans have jumped off the bandwagon and want Kirk or Colt. I just want anyone of these QB to manage the game give us a chance to win. We don't need 1 guy we need a team effort to turn this shit show around. Jay Gruden is on the Hot Seat this year, so they better show improvement.

Re: Best QB on our roster for the current team and system
i dismiss McCoy bc his lack of arm strength limits the play calling, defenses can push up the safeties to a degree and desean jackson will be one pissed off dude all season long being underthrown to.
like it has been said, mccoy is a decent backup. |

Puzzling. Despite superior production when it counts people like Kirk more because he has a stronger arm and they perceive him as potentially being more then a back-up, even though right now he's a back up same as Colt.

Re: Best QB on our roster for the current team and system
I think after seeing last night I'll be happy if we ride with Kirk. The Suggs interception is yet another example of what we'll get, he sometimes just flat doesn't see defenders when they're in surprising places. But the ball comes out at the top of his drop, in rhythm, like it's supposed to. I have no doubt Kirk will be among the league leaders in INTs, but at least the offense can operate like it's supposed to. Robert doesn't turn it over quite the same, but every play breaks down.
Not to mention the drama and headaches. Just give me Captain Kirk and move on with life.

Best QB on our roster for the current team and system
So who does Gruden play at QB in the last preseason game? If Kirk is to be the starter in the regular season, one wouldn't expect to see him play. Colt for the whole game? What is Griffin gets cleared? Even if it is unlikely, do you play him (he needs the reps if there is any thought of him remaining the starter)?

Re: Best QB on our roster for the current team and system
I still laugh when Joe Theismann said last year he thought Cousins was the best QB on the team. People said Theismann is an idiot, what does know, blah, blah, blah. Still no one gives him credit.
