I just don't see the fit for Payne. He is the same size as Jonathan Allen which is a bit undersized for an NFL DT. Heck, he even has a similar skill set to that of Allen. So, the way I see it, we already have what Payne brings to the party in Jonathan Allen.

What we really need is a big, fat run stuffer. I think we should take a run at Bennie Logan or the big dude from Atlanta in FA. If we don't sign one of those two, then Vea would be very high on my wish list.

I tend to agree, but if read somewhere that Payne has room on his frame to add weight and that he's good at getting a good inside push to disrupt run lanes, so he might be able to fill that role. I also really really like Tim Settle as a 2nd round option.

He's already about 20 lbs heavier than Allen. This NFL profile says he'll be the premier run stuffer in the draft.

I don't understand the scoring. Your worst pick is an A-, how can the overall grade be a B? Makes no sense. Everyone's seem to be like that.

Re: 2018 Mock Drafts

Would you trade a 2019 1st into the top 5 for Barkley?

No way.

I like Barkley a lot, and wouldn't pass him up if he falls to the Redskins, but an elite RB is not something I'd ever trade for. Significant contributors at RB can be found in the mid rounds every year. RBs also don't have longevity, it's just not a good long term return on investment.

Imo he is a guy that could put us over the top with Smith tho, I would certainly entertain it at the very least. RB's are easy to fill but ELITE RB's are very far and few between.

We aren't one player away from going over the top. Elite RBs are rare, that's true, but they get injured as often as non elite. Also, name me an elite RB that has won a Superbowl in the past 10 years.

Re: 2018 Mock Drafts

Ok, this is a hard question for me to answer, I wanted to see what you all think. If the following players are all somehow available at 13 who would you take:

A. Barkley
B. Nelson
C. Ridley
D. Vea
E. R. Smith
F. None of the above

And Philly's elite RB is...?

I know that's not your point, but it is mine. They traded up to get their franchise QB, that's much different. They also stackes their lines. They did not add an elite RB to take them over the top.

very true, I do think we def need a Guard and a Center to solidify that line. Hope we get most of our holes filled this OS
