Re: Around the NFL Off season thread 1.0
Why have we already had our coin toss with GB but the 9ers/Raiders haven't had theirs? Weird.

Would it? 27.5 mil is approx. 3.5 mil more than what he got for 2017. I know I'm beating a dead horse here but it wouldn't have crippled us. Sure in hindsight we could use that extra money elsewhere but the problem would have been nonexistent had they ponied up two years ago at the steal price of 20 mil AAV.

Re: Around the NFL Off season thread 1.0
So, from what I've read, the Eagles are around $9M over the salary cap and have a decision to make regarding Nick Foles. I was jawing with some Eagles fans the other day, and they think that the Eagles will restructure Foles' contract to keep him. I questioned this logic. First of all, not only did he win you a Super Bowl, but he was the MVP of the Super Bowl. Why, on earth, would he be OK heading back to the bench for less money, when he could be starting for another team making a lot more money. And, why on earth would the Eagles be OK with keeping Foles through the 2018 season, paying his contract, and then letting him walk for nothing when his contract is void at the end of the season?
I brought up the Eagles, because I think they're going to need to cut some players to get under the cap, and maybe we can steal some of their better players.

Re: Around the NFL Off season thread 1.0
The Eagles would be crazy to let Foles leave without anything in return, the guy just won you a SB and was the MVP, He was arguably as good as Wentz.

Re: Around the NFL Off season thread 1.0
Good chance Wentz may not be ready to go week 1 so they could wait to deal Foles during the season

Of course, as a Redskins fan, I'm fine with that. The Eagles are way over the cap and will have to cut players, so keeping Foles would just put more pressure on them. Not to mention the fact that they just let Frank Riech go to the Colts as their new head coach. I think the Eagles will find just how hard it is to repeat.

Re: Around the NFL Off season thread 1.0
Being that the Eagles are way over the cap, I'm not sure what deal they could offer Foles at all.

Re: Around the NFL Off season thread 1.0
The NFL will have to change that up, QB's making 30M a year will cripple your team.

Re: Around the NFL Off season thread 1.0
I agree 100%. Franchising KC twice upped the QB market as an side consequence. I think the correction will come with KC's contract. Teams will reset the value for a top 10 qb around what he is paid.

Re: Around the NFL Off season thread 1.0
People thought the same thing when QBs hit the $20m mark, and then $25m. Bottoms line is salaries will keep increasing in line with the cap.
