Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Youtube flippin' and I came across this video of Coach Ron mic'd up against the Panthers. I love the energy. I hope this year was the start of something special and he's the last coach Dan hires for a while.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
In an ideal offseason, draft Mac Jones and Olave. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Gotta be more to the story than what we're hearing. He finished the year on IR, maybe Ron thought he wasn't dedicated to the rehab or he wasn't taking it seriously or something. No reason to cut a guy on locker-room clearing out day otherwise.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Likely that he's not responded to treatment and they can't see him recovering enough to be productive next season. Wondering if he got an injury settlement?

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
There was some chatter about him being in the doghouse for some reason early in the season and he only got to play when they had no other bodies available.... seemed to me Kaleke Hudson got more playing time in the second half upto the point where SDH got injured. It seemed odd at the time that they put him straight to IR when the injury was said to be minor and there were only 2 reg season games left..

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
We've already spent way too much time wondering about SDH. Honestly I forgot he was still on the team.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Cut the first day of the offseason is a message. Either you are all in or get the fuck out.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
It goes as follows (all deadlines subject to the traditional 4 p.m. EST time marker):
Feb. 23 - March 9: Franchise/Transition Player Designation Period March 17: 2021 league year begins April 5: Start of offseason workouts for teams with new head coaches April 19: Start of offseason workouts for teams with incumbent coaches April 23: Last day of restricted free agent signing period April 28: Last day to match offer sheets for RFAs April 29 - May 1: 2021 NFL Draft https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2...usion-of-2020/ Free agency "talks" can begin on march 15, 48 hours before the start of the new league year (and FA) Curious on when our period to negotiate/sign Scherff begins and ends. Do we tag anyone? Maybe transition tag Darby or Scherff but both are more likely not going to be. ---------------- RFA - Robert Foster and Danny Johnson ERFA - Kyle Allen and Cam Sims (if we offer 1 yr min, they cant refuse .. very nice) |

We're not tagging Darby. Hopefully Scherff signs a deal. I'm not sure when that negotiation can begin. |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Interesting take on Kyle Smith from the Twitterverse:
“ Washington had a great offseason haul last year and it’s easy to give Kyle Smith all the credit. But I think Rivera and his coordinators have a good idea of which guys fit their system. May be the reason Rivera was reluctant to give Smith all the praise.” Thoughts?!

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Ew.
https://www.nbcsports.com/washington...gm-job?refresh WFT requests interview with Martin Mayhew and Titans VP of Player Personnel Ryan Cowden. Idk what this means for Kyle Smith but it's obvious Ron wants someone older than Kyle with more experience. I don't disagree with his line of thinking but am aware this means exposing Kyle to anybody who wants to hire him as GM.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Not saying it’s correct or accurate. Just thought provoking.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
You mean draft Mac Jones in the 2nd round right?! I’ll lose my shit if we draft him at 19.
