2019: 16 games 2020: 11 games 2021: 16 games 2022: 7 games I guess it depends on how he recovers or is recovering from his injury this past season. The thing with him is that you no longer depend on him needing to be the top LB, given Davis' play. So to me is a toss up on whether they keep him or not.

I would prefer to get a better player in 2023 - if Holcomb wanted to come back for depth I'd be fine with that too.

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
The thing is, at LB, we need to upgrade our starting unit AND add depth, so I'd very much like to bring Holcomb back as a rotational + depth guy.

Plus if the Ravens couldn’t get him help with his rookie contract how the fuck are they going to do it with the ball and chain contract LJ is asking for. Ravens been here before with Flacco , Lamar saved them from that abortion. Ravens are too smart to step in that bear trap again. I would non exclusive him and let another team bid for his services if it’s too high to match take the 2 number 1s and go find yourself a new QB1. Also to add everyone loves to blame the Ravens O problems on the WRs; but the one constant with all the Ravens receivers through the years is LJ throwing to them. Maybe its the one chugging the ball not catching the ball that the issue lies with.

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
Jackson is a better quality RG3, but he's made himself so reliant on his running ability I doubt he'll ever improve as a passer. Had he developed his passing ability he'd likely have been re-signed. I sincerely hope we go nowhere near him if he reaches FA; one bad lower body injury and he's done. I don't blame him trying to get a lot of guaranteed money for that reason, but its a big cap risk for any team.

AR15 may be a good example, ok he is coming to your franchise, invest in the OL TE and a great RB, take from WR because they really can't throw to them.

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
I would really like to see us go after either E Kendricks or T Edmunds in free agency...or some other legit Veteran ILB. Do that and draft a top CB at 16, and this D would be g2g.

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
Interesting, just read on PFT that all franchise tags placed were non-exclusive, including Payne. Means he can negotiate with other teams...

So we could match what he is offered or trade him for two firsts? If that is the case Id trade him in a heartbeat. Idc what the offer is. |

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
I can't see anyone giving D Payne a long term contract, and also giving up 2 first round picks. I wonder if that draft compensation is negotiable...i.e. we would let him walk for 2nd and 3rd round picks or something like that.

Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
I think that would then have to be a sign and trade. I believe it's been done before though (effectively accepting less), not sure/can't remember.
