Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups

Look, we can speculate, analyze, and synthesize this shit until we are blue in the face. The bottom line is that Joe Gibbs will share with this team his knowledge and experience as a head coach and have them prepared for this game. Execution is the key for this game moreso than any other game. The twelth man must execute the resounding noises that can resonate from RFK to FedEx.

Those who are afraid that we could lose to Dallas are those who probably are complacent with life as it is and not subjective to change. Because to change means to sacrifice something you think is good. What's good in losing 14 out of 16 games to this bum-ass Dallas team that is as inconsistent as any NFL team in the league aside from Indianapolis? I'll tell you not one thing. We have finally gotten to the corner and are ready to turn the corner. With or without our starters. With our without alot of points. We will win this game because the players believe they can win. I don't care what we did against the Giants, they would have beaten the 75' Steelers with the emotional mindset they approached this game from. I expect the same from Washington.

The Reskins must impose their will on Dallas and knock them down everytime they get up.

Why we will lose and

why we will win...

We will WIN if:

1) Terry Glenn is held in check (no big plays)
2) Moss has at least 2 catches over 20 yds.
3) Our play mix is 60-40 run
4) We convert on 50% of 3rd downs.
5) We win the turnover battle
6) We get at least 3 sacks
7) Portis rushes for 100 yds.

We will LOSE if:

4 out of those 7 don't go our way.

Re: Why we will lose and

You won't need to worry about those things. The Foreskins will lose just because you're playing the Cowboys. Don't forget, historically you only get one lucky win against us a year... not 2.

You're complicating things man. We lose the turnover battle and we lose the game...it's that simple!

You're probably right since, inferentially, that means that Brunell plays a solid game. He doesn't need to throw for 300 yards for us to win. Although, with that Dallass secondary, he very well might!

Ok, you entire starting CB corp are hurt probably will not play on Sunday, Gibbs is moving a practice squad guy up to play, and another who has never made a start in the NFL, Sean Taylor will probably be lining up in coverage as well.

With all that, and our starting and releif CB's and safeties are all healthy, and you want to talk smack about the DALLAS SECONDARY?

I won't pretend that I'm optimistic about winning, but if Dallas loses, then you'll have to admit that the Cowgirls are one sorry ass team. With all of the injuries in Washington, there's no excuse for Dallas losing. Looking forward to a big upset and kicking your ass!

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Nothing.

Exhibit A.

Are Glenn and Henry playing? I thought they were questionable. Without them, you've got FIVE interceptions from the rest of the secondary. Plus you're giving up 200 yards a game.

Like I said - could be a big day for Brunell.

Re: (Mega Merged Thread) Redskins-Dallas Game

Ok there has been a lot of smack flying all over the place.

But with all smack aside I would like to hear from Redskins fans, and intelligent assesment as to why the Redskins will win on Sunday. What are the factors in place that place the odds clearly in favor of Washington. Besides the home field advantage of course.

I think Dallas will win because of the following reasons:
1. With the exception of LT, they are healthy on both sides of the ball.
2. Dallas leads the league in TOP and controlling the clock.
3. They have better depth at key positions, DE, DT, LB and RB.
4. With thier depth they are able to rotate players in and out of the game, keeping them fresh and rested for the later quarters when the opposition is showing signs of fatigue.
5. Injuries to the Redksins make them very vulnerable. Thier top 3 CB's probably will not play, they are moving a practice sqaud guy up to play and another that has never started a game in the NFL. Thrash and Moss both have tended hamstrings.
6. Dallas has the better QB.
