Really? Would you mind pointing out anyone who has stated or indicated anywhere in this thread, they Love Shanahan?
The majority in the poll are just bright enough to understand that the constant...torching and "rebuilding" of the Team/Coaching staff is a recipe for more of the same.....

You're doing exactly what you accuse everyone else of, taking things to the extreme.

Big difference between winning more than 5/6 games a year and "doing no wrong". Nobody expects superbowls every year I just want to be relevant once during the holidays. Thats always a treat.

Gibbs gave us that and plenty weren't happy with it.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

Honestly I felt strongly in 2008 that Jim Fassel was exactly what this team needed. Or Mike Sherman. I think someone who's already been a coach but is looking for a second chance to get his first ring would be ideal.

Oh well, we all know who our next coach is anyway

SS, I am curious, who? I now feel there needs to be a change.

The below rant is my feelings after todays game.

After todays game and seeing the play calling and the performance of the players I do think it is time for a (Coaching) change. I can handle the Rookie QB making mistakes, not the veterans. The guys are to slow and missing assignments. This is a direct reflection of the coaching staff and the FO. At some point all jobs are held to be accountable. Coach Shannahan is not getting it done, and play calling is absolutely pathetic and getting worse. I understand that the team has had injuries, but so does all the other teams that seem to find away to find away to win. We just get worse, the Redskins are going for a 6 to 7 win season, which agian is where we have been for last 15- 20 years. I know that we are all getting sick of this.

Thoughts?

So is it true that Gruden was asked prior to Shanny to come aboard and he turned us down (due to no QB, Snyder's rep and mostly loving his ESPN gig)?

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

I am so disgusted and disappointed that at this point, I couldn't tell you if I'd be opposed or happy to see Mike Shanahan go. I understand both arguments for and against. I'm just at this point where I'm tired of the bad luck, bad choices in coaching, bad choices in players. At some point you'd think things would change.

Re: Should Mike Shanahan be fired?

I think in the end, Mike's downfall (if there is one) will be his decision to go with Haslett as his DC. This was by far his biggest mistake. (not even the McNabb trade) Not sure what the **** he was thinking bringing in a guy who didn't want to run that particular defense, nor hadn't ran it in 11 years. You mean in that year off he couldn't find somebody worth a damn to run this defense? Romeo? Phillips? I know Zimmer was his first choice, but god damn there had to be somebody else.

I agree. He does have to answer for that and it's the biggest reason we're going nowhere this year.

Yep, when your best starting field position is the 35 yard line going in to the 4th Qaurter.. Well, that's saying something..

I don't even think the Offense has been in many good positions this year. Our defense is the main reason for our downfall at the moment. We don't hold anyone down, we allow teams to chew up clock, and break off big plays when they need them.

Same old song and dance this year.

Oh come on, all the great things he has done? The amount of times i have heard how much better off we are than three years ago? The constant referincing to the 20th century Super Bowls? Coaches change all the time in every major sport. They succeed or they fail. It isnt the "changing" that leads to the same old shit its the "wrong decisions" that lead to the same old shit. Bound to land a solid coach eventually. Hoped Shanny would work out. He isnt. He wont. If we win 6 or less i say thats that.

If you truly do not think the team in place today is not superior to the team MS inherited, you certainly are not up for....any realistic discussion.
