Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
Any thoughts on Allen stressing, "the value of time, because in the NFL right now time is really, really critical to manage.”
Was this a weakness of MS? Was he just talking and this part just filler? It seems like an odd comment, I mean, time management is important in any job, and certainly the NFL, but isn't that like a basic requirement for a HC? |

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
fuck it, just bring in chris cooley in some sort of capacity. Smart and a fan favorite. Seems like he would be good in the scouting department, or some sort of front office gig.
So, besides the coaching search, any news of any fires in the front office staff? Ive heard that crew is pretty toxic, and replacing, if only a few of them, could do nothing but help from what Ive heard....... |

If we don't get Bevell, I really like the idea of Art Briles. Something tells me with the right support staff, he could get it done in a big way. Just my personal opinion.

Can't agree to that. Coordinators with years of nfl experience who become Head coaches often don't pan out. How is a guy with no nfl experience going to handle that? Give me a bevel or McDermott. Someone who has nfl experience and has been successful as a coordinator.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
Seriously, can we get Bevell, a good 4-3 coordinator, and some f*cking help on special teams. P.S. apparently some teams are looking at Tom Cable. What do you all think of (not sure if this is allowed given his Assistant Head Coach title) Bevell bringing in Tom Cable as OC?

Cable as OL coach, sure. Pass as OC.

If Bevell becomes HC here (not sure if the interest is mutual or if he'd rather go to another team) who do you bring in as DC?

As bad as our D has been, I'd say we need Gen. Colin Powell.

Kevin Sumlin declining NFL interview requests to stay with Texas A&M Aggies - ESPN
Pretty sure nobody here was hoping for Sumlin, but it appears the feeling is mutual. |

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
I don't get the love for Bevelle. Have watched almost every Hawks game this season as my better half is a longtime fan and gotten back on the wagon, and we went to the game Sunday where they battered the Rams. It's Seattle's defense winning games. I still think Wilson is a stud (and Lynch) but there's nothing special about the offensive scheme.
So I guess we could go after Seattle's DC, but why over Lovie or Williams who already has ring as DC? I'm not getting excitement over most of the coordinators actually. Pretty limited track records and nothing that screams leadership qualities you want in an HC.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach (Volume 2)
I'm also in the 'eh' camp on Bevell. His offenses have never jumped off the screen to me. Wilson makes a ton of plays, Lynch makes a ton of plays, other than that I don't see anything special about his scheme or playcalling. Gruden shows a lot more imaginiation and diversity in scheme but I get the strong feeling he doesn't want to come here.
With the McDermott interview, which is interesting, it does raise the thought of HC-McDermott, OC-Chudzinski.
