So, the long and short of it is, yes, Reid was trying to run the score up and probably would have scored 70 points if he felt the Redskins had time to come back.
I hear ya, it's just when people start talking about "running up the score" it usually implies something negative as in bad sportsmanship. We're on the same page.

Anything within the first 3 quarters is fair game. I have no issue with the way the Eagles conducted themselves.

If anything, Reid should've gotten Vick out of there to protect him, but I don't think they ran it up per se.

I'm not buying the spit thing at all! He talks about running up 60 points on us like they can do that everyday or at their will. Screw him. I hope next time Landry puts some big hits on these guys.

Somebody needs to tell Landry that this is not a good team and we have nothing to brag about.

A little pre-game trash talk... like that never happens. Who cares. The spitting stuff does sound like BS too.

Re: Eagles v. Redskins Monday Night Football Thread

They didn't run the score up. It probably could have been 80 points?
DON'T like it??? STOP it!
We could not get it done and definately deserve to have noses rubbed in it. It literally makes me ill to have had this happen, but I CANNOT imagine a more powerful call to action or motivator than to be held up to ridicule as we are experiencing.
If it does not serve to motivate this team...they have no heart and like the...boys...deserve what they get.

when did that happen? we left the bar at halftime then watched bits n pieces of the game at home.

I must say, that was just ridiculous of AH, but at this point nothing surprises me with this team.

I didnt see this AH sleeping thing until SS posted it.

I don't usually say this but it's obvious this guy has got to go. I'd rather have a middle of the road guy that gives it all he's got every play.

Re: Eagles v. Redskins Monday Night Football Thread

Nice to see guys like Lorenzo Alexander never quit yesterday, but he never does anyway

Great to see Darrell Young score his first NFL touchdown on the same day his brother, serving in Afghanistan, got to see him play for the first time

Nice to see CP change his plans to sit in a suite and be on the sidelines to provide support to Keiland Williams

Ok, now that that's out of the way. The bad (in no particular order)

1. Eagles were already fired up after DM5's YT video after the first game and they built on that with their, I believe, perceived slights from the Redskins about D Jax's concussions and the spitting allegations against Landry. Would have been nice to see that same intensity from the Redskins

2. Kareem Moore continues to frustrate me. He's like a poor man's D Hall except he's hardly the ball hawk he was earlier in the year

3. Lack of discipline by the D. The reason, in my opinion, the defense looks better to some versus last year is that last year's defense sacrificed big plays for discipline. There has to be a balance

4. Joey Galloway. Seriously? I mean, I believe that Terrence Austin has a future with this team and I believe the Redskins believe that. But what's to be gained from keeping him off the field for Galloway this deep into the season. Will be interesting to see what the WR corps is next year. Will Moss return? Will Kelly finally be healthy? Will they trade for Jackson?

5. Haynesworth's "Nap" So sad, it was comical

6. Ryan Torain: My man's gotta stay healthy and MS has gotta keep more than RBs active

7. Keiland Williams: Needs to improve his pass blocking

8. I had to watch the game with members of the Eagles front office. That was absolute hell

End of the day, the performance was sad and inexcusable. But I'm not bothered by the blowout itself. What's disappointing is blowing a win against the Lions, having two weeks off, and then putting in the poor effort we did last night. Momentum is not on our side right now. Skins need to pick it back up.
