Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Flacco is a SB winning QB who doesn't have the weapons that KC does. He played a big part in some playoff games on the road. Plus the SB. Not trying to undermine what KC is doing, he's been impressive. But Flacco delivered when it mattered most. In the end maybe that's what Redskins management might be looking at. He's going to have play at this current level in the post season.

Flacco also had a top tier defense. Just sayin... I wouldn't trade for Flacco young or old. No way. |

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Kirk is a far superior QB to Flacco. It's not even a comparison in my book.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Forget Flacco the number Cousins will be looking at is Luck's deal and working up from there.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
3 years of the franchise tag would average over $25M so you can bet that's what they will be looking at.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
As long as it leaves us with plenty of money to take care of our other needs I'm alright with it.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Here's some good info on our salary cap for next year. $61 million sound ok?
The Redskins are poised to make big moves

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
It seems to me that the most important number to Kirk's side would be the amount that is fully guaranteed. With the amount guaranteed as a negotiation item, the Skins could start low on that amount and give some on the guaranteed amount later in the negotiations in order to bring down the annual salary amount.
The number of years in the contract is also an issue. Will it be three, four, five, or even six years?

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Hes going to get a cabinet position if we don't sign him long term so we better get busy.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
It just needs to get done. The guy has been a consummate professional -- languished beyond RGIII for years, stepped in largely when things were pretty bleak and did ok (not great) and was always great about accepting his role. He then seized the chance after beating RGIII out in training camp and has shown continued improvement since. Plays with emotion and seems well liked and respected by teammates. Good citizen in the community. it is crazy talk that we'd let the guy walk. We won't.

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
Yeah no way he walks. I know we're a new age as far as handing out money goes but he's the best potential free agent we've had in years so it seems laughable that he would walk. I think Kirk knows here is the best place for him as well and that will factor in. You guys wanna talk crazy scenarios? John Clayton would offer him a 4 year 96 mil deal, can you imagine Kirk getting that two years ago?

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread
There is no way the Redskins let Kirk Cousins walk. He deserves a big contract. Pay the man!
