He turned down a lowball offer, how does that mean he doesn’t want a LTD?

You guys really need to slow your roll lol

I hope you are right and he does want a LTD but until it happens I'll be concerned, I just dont think he and BA are on the same page.

Yeah as really think that Cousins will bolt if the dumb owner does not pay him up. And would not blame him. Yeah as really it depends on if they pay him. Need to get a great RB.

I liked the interview answer where Kirk said he wanted the franchise this last season to see how the offense played without McVay and he feels comfortable with the way things are. I don't think that was a smoke screen but a legit answer.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

I think he's the first QB to focus solely on the guaranteed money of a deal vs the guarantees that come with a one-year franchise tag. That's all he wants, guarantees.

He doesn't want to turn control over to a team for five years if he's only going to be guaranteed two. At that point he might as well just play on the franchise tag.

It's an excellent point. If the Skins offer 3+ years of guarantees in a 5 year deal, then he'd likely be interested. If another team offers that, then he'd likely be interested in them, assuming they're a good situation in which he thinks he can succeed.

I don't think he wants the highest salary, but he does want very high guarantees.

I like how everyone has it figured out as to what he wants

All that's clear is that he really wants to get to free agency. But that's just the means. What we don't know is the end.

Does he want to get to free agency because he wants to find a better situation to play in? Or does he want to get to free agency because he really wants to be a Redskin, but wants to drive up his guarantees as much as possible?

That we can't possibly know. It's obvious he wants to get to free agency, but why? We don't know. But it doesn't necessarily mean he wants to leave.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

Just talk to other teams that may be interested in a trade for Kirk. He doesn't want to be here or he would want to get the deal done so the redskins could focus on other team needs/draft. He is not worth anywhere near what it will take to sign him. All you have to do is send a blitz and he will take a sack or throw an interception. There may be a team out there that would want to trade for him because if he gets to the open market the price could be so high that they couldn't sign him because of lack of cap space. Just a thought, not sure though. Got to try to get something for him.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

Cousins and Redskins are messing up my mock drafting. Have to do 2 drafts now. 1 each with and without a QB selection.

Fire Bruce Allen resign Cousins and make 95% of your fans happy. Seems simple to me but this is the Skins.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

I've narrowed what Cousins wants down to 3 things: he wants out no matter what, he is 50/50 and will stay if the money is right, he's wanted to stay the whole time but didn't want to give up his hand in negotiations and we've just over analyzed every comment.

He was a top ten passer against the blitz lol

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

I think all we really know is he wants a LTD.

I think he’s done with this year to year drama.

Where he wants it from is the multi million dollar question.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

I’ll venture a guess he doesn’t even know where yet. He just wants to be able to weigh all his options and make the best decision possible.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?

Per Gruden to Dan Steinberg:

"For the most part, the great quarterbacks are in the same system year in and year out, and are developing in that system.*[Teams are]*not holding our breath every March and April, waiting for the guy. But if that's the case, that's the case. But we like Kirk and his development. He's played well at times, without a doubt, proven that he's a good starting NFL quarterback."

Every time he complinents Cousins there is always a qualifier in there. Its so weird. "At Times". Why throw that in there?
