Not for the Redskins... they could keep him on the roster and wait for a team to become desperate and trade for him. I think the Redskins are as dug in as Trent and are not going to give him away for a late pick.

If we don't get value today for Trent I try to mend fences and if they are able to do that then I would offer him a two year deal. We need a lot of positions and need more picks. I know that this may not be the popular thing for some people, but I would see what I could get for Kerrigan. His cap hit for his production don't match up. I know he is a fan favorite. but we need more picks.

I'm not offering him shit, come back and play the last year of your contract and leave next year, or sit out again.

Amen to that. Sit out and don’t accrue the year, and your career ends without you getting paid for the last few years of your contact.

S

I’m really starting to agree with this idea. If Trent had asked for a reasonable salary, he would’ve been traded in a deal beneficial to both the team and him. Instead he got greedy and asked for an astronomical salary. This scared off almost all or all the teams. Most of the teams interested in him simply drafted two or MORE OT instead of trading for Williams. Their math is similar to them all and the reason Trent will get a low draft pick or NOTHING.

You draft several draft pick OT in the 2nd, 3rd and lower rounds. First, they are cheap $500,000 to $1 mill. Some will be busts (over half) but one or two will make it. Meanwhile, Trent would cost $20 mill per year , and most likely would get hurt AGAIN. Most teams would take the more risky course with drafting cheap OT, versus trading for an Uber-expensive Trent, who hasn’t played in a year, and also
has been hurt.

Bottom line, Trent priced himself out of the market. If he can’t be traded then he either takes his salary or he sits another year. If he’d been less greedy he would have more money, a new team and the Redskins would have good draft pick. Let him sit if he won’t play!!!

I assume we are wanting to do whats best for the skins. Well if we can't trade him for value then you have a couple options. Could make amends and sign him or make him play on his last year of his contract. If you say i'm not giving him anything and he can come in a play for his last year. There will be locker room problems. If they don't make amends then he could come in and pretend to get hurt and sit the rest of the year and you pay him and get no reward. Who wins that, Trent. I would prefer to trade him for value as well, but not giving him away. If you don't get value and trade him on the cheap then Trent wins again.

If Trent sits out for 2 years, I wonder what his value in the NFL would be. Certainly not what he will have lost these by not playing these 2 years.

Like others have said, his agent sold him a bill of goods, and now they can't get it back.

You can believe this or not, but the Redskins do not feel they have to move him today or this weekend.

Oh, I believe it. I also believe that I've had enough of this horribly mismanaged (by both sides) issue. See you in the other threads!

But the horrible manager of the team is gone, along with all the people that worked for this team that created this mess, so this is a completely separate situation.

I believe fans need to stop making a big deal about having Trent sitting out for the season again.

This is not Ron Rivera's mess, this is now Trent's mess because he started to act like a diva towards the new regime.

Pittsburgh was fine with having LeVeon Bell sit out for a season, and I think we'll be too if people don't make such a big deal about it.

I suppose they could slap the transition tag on him next year if they have too.

You can bet Trent is looking at this

Laremy Tunsil agrees to three-year extension worth $22 million annually
