Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
I'm no expert but I can't seem to shake the idea that a nice low cost trade for Marcus Mariota could work out for the WFT in the short term. I think he'd fit in our offense and that he and Heineken (if we re-sign him) would give us a decent pair of QB's to make us competitive in our division.

Dak will be tagged if a deal can’t happen per NFL Network.

I'm pretty sure Dallas doesn't have the cap room to take on the $37 mil tag cost.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
It amazes me that after being fans of such a dysfunctional team, people here are completely in Houston's camp in the whole Watson situation.

That old "you signed the contract, live with it" mentality still running strong. Pretending like Houston wouldn't abide by the contract either if Watson's play dropped off for whatever reason.

But he got his nose out of joint because they said they would talk to him then they didn't. I'd instantly be very distrusting of my management if they told me they'd consult me on something like that, then immediately reneged on the situation. Not saying its enough to justify the trade demand but I suspect there's more to it anyway. Final straw after the Hopkins trade? |

Also, has anyone seen what the Texans situation is looking like? They are $18 mil over the cap, no dynamic players outside of Watson, and they don't have their 1st and 2nd round picks this year. They are a mess.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
It isn't apples to apples. He is 5 months into a new deal. Did he look around at racist ownership and the O'Brien era and see some model of functional behavior? He could have gone the Cousins route, held out for free agency, instead he inked a new deal. It is unconscionable to demand a trade just 5 months into a new $150M+ deal.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
On Saturday morning, Windy City Gridiron contributor Brandon Robinson talked about the Eagles getting something like a 2021 first-round pick (No. 20), a 2022 third-round pick, and Nick Foles in exchange for Wentz.
On Saturday evening, 97.5 The Fanatic’s Natalie Egenolf shared what she’s hearing: Name I’m hearing is Tarik Cohen, a first rounder and yes world, Nick Foles. https://t.co/dEsK5N8oV8 — Natalie Egenolf (@NatalieEgenolf) February 7, 2021 Then Howard Eskin jumped in with the following: Rumors all over tonight on #Eagles trade of QB Carson Wentz. Here’s what I’m told. Wentz and a draft pick to #Bears for number 1 draft pick, QB Nick Foles, and RB Tarik Cohen who is coming off ACL injury but should be ready in September. @SportsRadioWIP — Howard Eskin (@howardeskin) February 7, 2021 But then Tarik Cohen seemed to deny he’s going anywhere! Lemme clear this up real quick . Just got off the phone wit my HC and GM , bears fans we locked in don’t worry . people say anything nowadays man . — Tarik Cohen (@TarikCohen) February 7, 2021 So, who knows what’s truly going on here. For discussion’s sake, let’s say the Eagles are trading Wentz and a pick for Cohen, Nick Foles, and a first-round pick. How do you feel about that offer? The first thought that jumps to my mind is: what is that pick that Eagles are sending back to Chicago? I saw something about how Philly might be dealing their 2021 second-round selection to the Bears, essentially moving the Eagles up from No. 37 to No. 20. If that’s true, that value is only worth the equivalent of a late second-round pick. Not an ideal return for Wentz. But, hey, maybe that’s not the scenario the Eagles would be in. Maybe they won’t have to return a pick that high. https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/...go-nfl-news-qb Normally when a player says "I just talked to my coach and GM and they told me Im not being traded" = youre being traded. I imagine Bears fans arent happy but Wentz is an enigma. To me he looked slow processing things, i fan speculate he seems to still be dealing with that concussion from the playoffs last year. |

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
It seems crazy to me that Wentz might get traded for a first rounder considering how terrible his season was last year and he's on a huge contract. If guys like Wentz go for that much, any half decent player isn't gonna be cheap.
In the end I can only draw one conclusion. Fuck Dan Snyder. Because if his dumbass didn't insist on Haskins two years ago there's a chance we wouldn't be in this position today.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021
But eagles might send their 2nd rounder back so it may end up being swapping #20 for #37. Tough call. Im not 100% given up on Wentz, perhaps last year was an outlier. Who knows.
