- vs. Carolina - He was Mark Sanchez.

Can't suffer through this anymore. Let him walk. He couldn't get us 2 TD's that would've sent us to Seattle. Pathetic. Our D really stepped up and Kirk couldn't deliver. Hard to blame anyone else, even with Jay's usual T.O. snafu end of 1st half.

I really hope they let him walk, and put that money into the trenches.

20/24 mil? no freakin way. Unless they can get him for 14-15M which they can't. Done with this choke artist. Still better than RG3 ofc, but is constantly missing wide open receivers for would be TD's. You don't reward those kind of mistakes with a Rogers or Big Ben type contract. Let the Browns or someone else take him.

I'd rather go with Colt next year for 1-2M. Let McCloughhy work his magic and see what happens.
And I've Been to 2 of his games both on the road and he lit it up

This is the situation that the Redskins were working so hard on- starting in OTAs during the summer. And they let all that hard work go to waste. So in the most important game to substantially prove to everyone that the Redskins are finally becoming contenders year in and year out, Cousins performs poorly. And this doesn't mean anything? Are all these people being obtuse or delusional?

This game meant a lot to everyone- involved with the Redskins and fans. But when we are looking at Cousins' performance in it, it doesn't matter?!? Gotta call BS when I see or hear it.

It's not indifference it's called looking at the big picture and his entire body of work, and not just cherry picking his down performances.

It's also looking at what else is out there and knowing just how hard it is to find a quality QB.

Also, cap room is not going to be an issue. So pay the guy and lock up the most important spot on the field, and let's move on to fixing the D.

It's not a black and white thing. To say that this loss shouldn't affect your opinion of him - even overall - is indifference to me.

You're right, it's not black and white. That's why one game, win or lose, doesn't change my mind.

He had a bad game no doubt, but again, I'm looking at his 2 years as our starter.

9083 yards, 54 TDs vs 23 INTs, 17-14-1 record. Far more good than bad.

If there's someone else out there that can step in and put up equal or better numbers I'm all ears.

My opinion hasnt changed either.Kirk played today like I thought he would,he hasnt shown he can handle the pressure of big games and he shit the bed.The off line didnt help him,the run blocking was shit,but Kirk did himself no favors,he did not play well.I cant help but think Colt would have played better today against the pressure with his mobility.Kirk needs to move around in the pocket more and run occasionally,he has the legs,he's not Dan Marino back there.And that stupid pistol formation they run with Kirk,it never works because Kirk never runs with it.{well it never works for the rb,it occasionally works when they do let Kirk carry it}
Getting back to Colt.I do think he would have handled the pressure of the game and the Giants defense today.Do I think Colt is better then Kirk,no I dont.Do I want Colt to be the starter,no I dont.I'm just saying I think he would have been better today against the Giants, hell he couldnt have been worse.
We have no choice,we need to resign Kirk.Franchise qb's dont grow on trees.Just look at what Houston got with Osweiller. Is Kirk going to be worth the money? We dont know yet, would you say he was worth the 17 mil he made this year? As far as stats go yes, results in winning games, probably not,it's debatable.
But we have no choice,we have to resign him and hope next year he plays better under pressure, defense and playcalling improve,Gruden gets ahold of his clock management and then just maybe Kirk will live up to his contract.

Over reaction Monday bro. Calm down. No chance colt McCoy plays better yesterday. Folks around the league and former QBs, (favre, bradshaw, dilfer) etc have all said KC is a franchise QB. If we let him walk that could set us back a long time.

It's almost not even debating with most of this fanbase. In the NFL staying the course and not over reacting is what the smart organizations do. We'll see where we're at as an organization this off season.

KC didn't get it done yesterday. But his overall body of work speaks for itself. He's the best Qb we've had here in a long while. Let's not forget that.

LOL I am calm,I'm not one of the ones screaming dont resign him.And to say no chance Colt plays better is purely speculation on your part, just as it was on mine.I think everyone agrees Kirk did not play well yesterday.2 bad picks and no es-capability out of the pocket. To say Colt couldnt have come in and and did better than throwing 2 costly picks and only putting 10 points on the board is not unrealistic on my part.
But again, let me reiterate,I am not calling on Colt to be the starter.I do think Colt can handle the pressure of a big game better and to think he could have not done better yesterday is not unrealistic.

What big game has Colt played in that proves your point?

Re: Kirk Cousins 24/7 thread

If the tag is "only" 24 million and he won't sign a contract that pays him 20 million per year, then I'd tag him again next year. I'm not giving him more than that long term, based on his play this year in big games. Then you'd have to work on a plan for new qb in 2018 or revisiting his worth if he shows drastic improvements in certain, very important areas.

I don't think he's worthy of 25 mil but at this point there's no better option, give him 20 mil a year and call it a day. He's not gonna win games on his own but put a solid team around him and he can win games.

Agree. 5 years 100 million sounds like a fair deal to both sides to me. He isn't an Elite QB and that extra 5 million each year goes a long ways towards adding and keeping talent around him and on D.
