One of the DC stations was saying that Snyder soured on him because in his interviews for the HC job he talked down about Gibbs.

If Manusky leaves then who is Gruden going to get? He's the kind of coach that will only hire coordinators that are inferior to him. That is why he hires scrubs like Joe Barry and Manusky but says no to Wade Phillips.
Steve Wilks would be another option.

The day after the wild card game, Richard interviewed with the Jets, Bucs and Dolphins. Three teams in one day. Those interviews can last from 6 to 8 hours. Just do not see how 'quality' those meetings were considering.

It just may be that those 3 teams were looking to punch the 'Rooney Rule' ticket with him. Guess we will see. There are still 2 of those 3 teams that have a head coaching vacancy.

If the job is anything other than a HC position, Jones will sweeten any pot or deal to keep Richard in Dallas. Unless he ends up being a HC, he is not going anywhere.

He's solid imo. I mean somehow, Ike Hillard has a job as WR coach with a group that has underperformed for years.

Me, too. I still do.

Does Snyder have cognitive issues or something? This seems like no leadership from the top. Could he possibly be so clueless or wishy-washy?

Is the following the way things are going right now at Redskins Park:

Dan calls Joe Gibbs and Gibbs tells him: "Dan, there's no way around it; you have got to fire both Bruce Allen and Jay Gruden and bring in better leadership. Don't worry, I'll help you find the right people to get us on track." Snyder replies: "I know you're right Joe but I need a little more time to figure out the whole thing."

Ten minutes later Bruce Allen walks into Snyder's office and says: "Dan, there is another way we can handle this whole coaching thing. Jay Gruden can stay and I'll just decide who should be starting and help him to call plays at critical points in games. But some of these assistant coaches have got to go! I want to release one of them right now to send a message." Snyder, "Uh, OK Bruce. You do that. I've got a marketing meeting in five minutes."

The next day Joe Gibbs calls Snyder when he hears about the firing and says: Dan, what is going on up there? You just fired your best position coach!"

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.

I'd say the lack of talent at WR has been a bigger issue than what Hilliard is or isn't doing

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.

Can someone tell me ultimately who was responsible for the passing game taking a major step back from when Cousins was here?

Who are you putting this on?...it seems to me everyone gives a pass from the folks here.

No clue why...Especially with the fact AP and the running game seemed to be better.

1.Smith isn't as good as Cousins in Jay's system. JJ and Sanchez are not NFL QBs.

2. Crowder and Richardson were hurt the majority of the year

3. Reed has regressed.

4. Docston at best is a 3rd wr.

5. Some of the other guys... Simms, Quinn, Davis all hurt.

Is Sims just another Marko Mitchell? Or can he develop and learn to be a disciplined NFL wr? Can Davis also develop?
