^ That means London's deal should be coming soon.

They need to give Fletcher his contract. Regardless of his age, look at what he's meant to not only the defense, but to the Redskins team in general. They should give him whatever he's asking for.

even if its $100mill?

no, they should be reasonable and let a 37 year old walk if he tries to hold them hostage. what has he meant to the redskins? 5-11? another top 5 pick? I'm all for keeping him, but not at any cost. Our D had issues covering people, and he wasn't stellar in that regard either.

Of course not. Nobody is worth $100 million dollars and I doubt if Fletcher is asking for that much. Fletcher may want a long term deal. The Redskins might want to give him something short term. Fletcher may want something in the range of $35 million dollars over five seasons. The Redskins may want to give him something the range of $9 million dollars over two years. But I'm just speculating here. They may be closer to a deal than we think.

He's wanting 3y/24mil. The Skins have put a 3yr/18mil contract up. It's not like the SKins are low balling him. IN fact, he'll never get 3yr/18mil on the open market.

NFL.com news: Redskins, Fletcher deal talks reportedly stalling due to penalty

No shit, I hope the arbitrator favors the skins and cowboys and get this resolved.

F that. He is being a bit ridiculous, especially when you take into account age and the going rate on MLB's. He needs to be a bit more reasonable, and quit asking for 8-9 mil a year. Bring it down to 5-6, and we would still be overpaying for him.

Given how long he's been hanging out there, chances are good he will bite and take the Skins offer. It's just a matter of time.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker

3 years for $18 million isn't that bad a deal. I hadn't heard any specifics pertaining to London Fletcher's contract negotiations. That's 5-6 million a year. The only way Fletcher says no is if any NFL club offers him more than that. But I doubt if they will.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker

While the case pertaining to the Redskins salary cap violation is holding London Fletcher's contract up, they could always ask players like DeAngelo Hall and Trent Williams to restructure their contracts in order to "create" cap space to get a deal done with Fletcher. This is assuming the Redskins unsuccessfully challenges this cap penalty issue.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker

if you're over the cap, you start losing draft picks, and the league stops accepting your new contracts.

Why did Dallas get one for Bowen? Just curious.
