We had none of that this year and a whole lot of injuries to go with it.

Cousins had just as many injuries along the Oline and receiver...and possibly had worst receiving talent. But being in Jay's system as a vet certainly benefited him. I think with our QB situation we need to add talent at Oline, add another quick Vet at Receiver...draft another Receiver mid round. But move the team in a "running game" type offense...while bringing the passing game along.

Alex Smith was there when we got our asses whooped by Atlanta. He was there when we couldn’t do shit against Tampa - but they pulled a Redskin and handed us the game on a silver platter. He was there and doing absolutely nothing against Houston - it was Colt who came in and sparked us when he went down. Basically for about a month before he got hurt we were on life support. The Alex Smith led Redskins were trending down hard well before he got injured. |

I still don't think we would have made the playoffs the way we were playing, but it's possible we would have done it at 8-8 if we had some luck / help. Even when Smith was healthy, i did not see us winning more than 9 games due to the coaching, as well as the injuries. Half of the games he started, he passed for under 200 yards and was held to 1 TD. Maybe he would have gotten better as the season went on, but it actually looks like stat wise he started regressing after the NO game. He had over 300 yards against Atlanta but that was due to garbage time.

Jay would never be comfortable w/ a coach like Williams.

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Williams wouldn't put up with his shit or the clown show in the front office. We should still try to land him. We need someone with some balls on the sidelines...eff it, I want to see Williams out there punching people...full chaos.

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
That's what I mean. He's going to be no nonsense and Jay just isn't that hard ass kind of guy. He wants someone that can go along with his personality and isn't a threat to him more than he wants results.

Based on lack of action on defense side by Gruden, I think we need to start accepting the fact that we are sticking with Manusky.
