Re: How bout it Lavar

To rush the qb it's common knowledge that Lavar has had his problems. comin back from injury, fitting in with the system. if The Great G.W. didnt think he could help this D then he would be on the bench. He's done it already. The mans a starter and a presence. Stop hatin on him. I remember us only sendin one or two people to the pro bowl and Lavar was always one of em. How can you say you like the team and your hatin on a team mate. This guy gave his all for the Skins, Iremember every tackle he made was so hard that he would have to come out cause he hurt himself,( ask Troy if he's a player)Six years how many defensive coordinators how many different systems? Can you blame him for wanting to freelance out there. Now he knows what he got to do and thats ok with me as long as we are winning thats all that matters. I m a Redskins fan not a Marcus fan or a Lavar fan I love the whole team everyone has a roll and everyones playin it. They both had the exact same stats 9 tackles 1 pick. but the biggest thing you need to remember is the score. If anyone should go its the guy holdin the wire from Joe"s headset cause joe tripped over it at least twice.

There is a big difference between hatin and telling it like it is, perhaps Lavar is part of the reason we had a different coordinator every year? I f he gave his all for the team he would listen and do as he's told, the fact is Lavar alway's wanted to do what's best for Lavar, and that's to run around the field doing whatever he feels like, while constantly being caught out of position, every coach he has had has said the same thing about him, can they all be wrong? I guess, but I doubt it.

As far a s pro-bowls are concerned, you can have them, I want wins, and championships, that's how I measure the greatness of a player, not a trip to Honolulu for a popularity contest.

Now LaVar is the reason Dan Snyder fired every coach he brought in here. Are we seriously going down that road. Dude, get real. That is rediculous.

That statement was made in conjuncture with another post that stated Lavar went through a different coordinator every year. 1 player will not make the difference for a coaches job unless he's the QB, but lets face it our defenses have been lowsey with Lavar until Williams arrived, and we had one of the best defensive seasons ever without Lavar in the lineup last season. Washington is the one who pressures the QB, he's the one who causes the fumbles, yes both he and Lavar were benfactors of tipped ball's for INT's, but the point is Lavar was easily replaced with Lamar last season, and was basically a third string LB behind Holdman and Clemons, I don't see Lavar getting after the QB like Clemons was before he was hurt.

Do you believe any other LB on our team could provide the same production and play making ability as Washington if he went down? No way! Without Lavar we haven't missed a beat, in fact you can make a case we have been better. He's a major waste of salary cap space!

Perhaps he may be better suited to step in for Wynn at the D-end position, I wouldn't mind seeing us experiemnet with that a bit on saturday.

First lets start with you first false statement of the defense not being anygood until GW got here. Under Marty and his brother they were top 10 I believe, under Marvin 1 year they were top 5 I believe, they did drop the following year, but also I believe the year Ray Rhoades was here they pretty damn good that year. So check the stats before saying that. Yes, Washington is a beast I dont believe I ever questioned that. As far as that goes he has had a better season. And our D did play VERY good last year without LaVar, dont think I ever questioned that either. True facts about why he isn't getting after the QB is he is not rushing the passer. He may blitz here and there, but for the most part he doesn't pass rush. A couple of the times I have seen him do it, he has been effective from the stand point of making the QB move outside the pocket and force bad throws, which all of the LBs have done, even Clemons when he was healthy. Clemons has been the 3rd down pass rusher because he was or is quicker than LaVar off the snap, no arguement there. I dont understand why people are comparing the two. They are both awesome LBs, Washington has been an awesome addition to this team. If LaVar is 100% healthy and in playing shape and Washington his usual self, we could have two of the most dominant LBs in the NFL. LaVar is alot heavier than usual, but he was all last year, during preseason, and for the most part didn't play until week 6 or so. Give the guy sometime to get healthy, FULLY HEALTHY and back down to his playing weight, and at full speed before you haters start throwing him aside. Remember it took Trotter almost a year and half to get back to full speed and playing at his normal level. And the defensive end thing has been done, he registered 11 sacks the year Marvin used him as a 3rd down pass rusher. That seems to be pretty sucessful, but I just dont know if he is that effective right now. He seems to be a step slower this year and doesnt' seem to have all his strength back in his leg. But I would imagine it would be better than nobody out there.

Re: How bout it Lavar

im a redskin fan thats estatic that we have 2 of the leagues premier linebackers playing for the skins.i hope we can have this debate after next week victory in which lavar and marcus both have 10 tackles and both have an interception.every team in the league would love to have this so called "problem" that we think we have here on this thread

For some reason I have feeling that Lavar will be in a Redskin uniform next season.

Especially if he keeps playing the way he did Saturday.

Re: How bout it Lavar

he is on. I will edit this post throughout.

"yes, we had an addittion on saturday at 1:25" "HAD A GIRL" Arlie or harley or soemething like that arrington.

"I didn't believe that she was telling the truth[about her water breaking]"

JT is telling him that he is no running back and he was yelling HOLD ON TO THE BALL and not run run run during the INT.

"108 yards in high school to the house"

"need an offsesaon to exersize not rehab"

"i gave us a little momentum- you know ha haaa. I wasn't being selfish i wanted portis to get that TD"

Where did you relize you just won a playoff game."On the airplane when i started looking around and Joe Theismann gave me a big hug on the airplane"

on the D-line
"the thing that has been the heart and sole of this unit has been our D-line. They have been taking criticism that they didn't deserve. THey come to the game and give an all out effort every week. nothing greater than to see them get their just due. It is showing up in the stats. Its a beautiful thing"

The saliva insident.
"The thing is when you are hollering and screaming a lot of things come out your mouth. If someone spit on me i would first wipe the spit off and then show him why he should have never done it. I know pittman and i don't think pittman would be so calm if sean spit on him. It happened but we are moving on"
"by losing him we had to do most-because you are losing a lot of range- we needed someone to cover almost half way from the field to the sideline. We had to nickel packages to make up for that loss"

on the 6 game streak
" i think the thing we set our mind on as a team was just to play. Not worring about a game in a row, two games in a row. YOu know we didn't want to waste a great opportunity. I said from day one this is a special group of guys and you don't know who will be here year in and year out and we need to take advantage of our opportunities."
"we're gonna be a tough team to deal with"

On wynn and shawn alexander
' like i say- its always gonna be a dawning challange to stop a league MVP- that is like the colts and Patriots last year. we all know what happened. THe patroits played ball played football. Very very dangerous player in shawn. PRobably the best LT in the game outside chris samuels. This team right here the way we playing is gonna see who comes out"

injuries on offense to defense impact
"we are a family. A unit. This whole run we put together. THe O would have to compinsate for lack of success on defense sometimes and all you saw saturday is they are playing the number 1 defense in the league. That doesn't mean they are a weak defense. Clinton is banged up and he is a warrior and he is gonna fight. BRunell is banged up but he still shows he can run for a first down."
"the numebrs weren't there but we did what we need to do. you can only face one number one defense."

Amount of skins fans at tampa
"Well i know this is something our fans have been waiting for for a long time. I can't be surprised because we have the greatest fans ever. Its an unbelievable thing to see the fans at redskins park and i haven't experienced this yet. It kind of seems that the kind of attitude by the fans, media, and people of the city that we are moving toward a magical season something special"

"we talked to sean about that"- JT tells him that to tell sean that he loves him. Congrats on the baby.

I just love this type on banter. Arrington vs Washington; Brunnel vs Ramsey... When all we have to talk about is who is the better player, that means the Skins are still winning football games. I love it!

I think LA believes in his mind he is auditioning for another team. He has been hurt and not played much so his name has been out of the limelight and some may question his skills so he needs to show the league he still has what it takes to play.
