Re: Lavar and Giants agree on deal
I think LaVar will go to NY and have a very good year. He's had a full year to re-hab and reflect. New system, new perspective. People may say, well he didn't flourish here like he was supposed to. Who could with what, five defensive coordinators? And still he managed three Pro-Bowls?
Whether people take LaVar's side or the coaches side, he's still a tremendous talent. No denying that. And I for one, wouldn't bet on him having a mediocre year or getting burned on plays. Bottom-line, we'll have to just wait until October on this one. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on LaVar to have a good season. |

Re: Lavar and Giants agree on deal
I think they got the whole signals thing cleared up by the 2nd meeting last year with NY.
Things will probably change more with Saunders on board, so I wouldn't worry about it that much. |

Re: Lavar and Giants agree on deal
I'm just surprised that the Giants broke the bank for him.

Sounds like it's more like a deal that will average $3M-$5M per year depending on what incentive triggers he hits. It's unlikely he'll hit enough to average $7M per. |

By the looks of his deal, seems like he was willing to take on more contractual risk just to stay in the NFC East. |

Re: Lavar and Giants agree on deal
The fact that he only got a $5.25 million signing bonus is astounding. He gave up $4.4 to leave Washington! Looks like he should have just restructured his contract and played for half as much...

#56fanatic:
What are you planning to do now about your username... I mean you have over 650 posts... You can't just start over. I just hope the Redskins don't get a new #56 and he is teh suck. That would be awkward. |

Re: Lavar and Giants agree on deal
Yeah, that'd be cool if we got a "new and improved" #56... True about Champ and Springs, definitely. You could also probably get an admin to move your posts over to another account...
