That was determined when they announced the game months ago. Both teams get a bye coming off of it. It is a condition of the whole situation.

You guys notice how the NFC Beast will have 6 primetime games in the first 9 weeks of the season.

That's the Beast that I know and love!

It has nothing to do with regional rivalries. It's actually pretty easy to figure out.

We're in the NFC East, obviously. That means that we play the 3 other teams in our division at home and away (6 games, total). Then we play another division from the NFC and one from the AFC (8 total games) The divisions that we play rotate each year. For the last 2 games we play the teams from the other two NFC divisions that we did not play that had the same divisional ranking that we did last season.

So, last year we played TB because we played the entire NFC South. This year we play them because we both finished 4th in our respective divisions last year. It's pure coincidence that we've had to play them 6 years in a row (or whatever).

As far as having to play them in TB 4 times in a row, I'm at a lose on that one.

This schedule isn't that great, but I'm not complaining. Look at the Raiders schedule, they were the worst team in the NFL last year and this year they have the worst schedule. I do wish the NFL would have a lot more change when it comes to passing out national t.v. games, I can't believe the Cowboys got 7.

The toughest thing early is having to face the Eagles, likely divisional champs (besides us), on their turf on MNF week #2. That looks like a tough loss for us, but an upset would be an incredible tone-setter to the season.

Then, we face the Eagles a 2nd time sandwiched in that brutal 4-game midseason stretch. We can't go 0-2 in those games.

The good news is that by the time we face the Cowboys, we're going to be supremely battle tested and ready. I just hope we won't be coming off an 0-3 stretch when we face the Cowboys. Even 1 win against New England, Jets, Philadelphia is going to feel damn good, and 2 would be unbelievable.

I notice the Patriots play the Colts the week after they play us, so we might catch them looking past us.

One thing I noticed is that in the first half of the season (warmer weather) we play our away games in cold areas against Greenbay & Pats. Our second half away game are in warmer areas as Tampa and Dallas. That could help us some in our away games.

Pretty cool that both Smoot and Fletcher get to play against their former teams. I want to see Fletcher shake off a block from Dockery to make a tackle for a loss against whatever bum will end up running the ball for the Bills.

I think we will tackle better. Not sure what film the Bills are looking at.

Yes, but havent they also released Bowen. If we wanted him bad enough, we could get him back. If he isn't already signed somewhere else.
