Re: Skins stuck at No. 6?
D line is next years project, trade up for Calvin Johnson since the DL prospects at #6 don't seem to be that good. Salvae, Griffin, Daniles, and Carter will have a better year, the secondary is better than last yr. and our new stud middle linebacker will hold things down for 07'. no we won't be in the top 10 defense, but Cambell and Johnson will be our future for the next 10 yrs...or stay at 6 and draft Landry either way the line aint gettin a overhaul this year

Re: Skins stuck at No. 6?
Ya serious? Amobi or Branch don't seem that good?! Really now, has there been a "can't miss" DT prospect in recent years?

Re: Skins stuck at No. 6?
Well, I'd want to see some clarification on why just because Griffin had one BAD season much like he had a GOOD season two years ago, that all of a sudden he's crap. Everyone is so, "What have you done for me lately?"
I guess that's why you're the impatient optimist.

Re: Skins stuck at No. 6?
Griffin should bounce back. Joe S. is probably a backup at best now. Hopefully Daniels can bounce back a bit and we can squeeze another year outta him.
I don't see how we can stand pat with the current personnel on the DL. I don't think it's quite as bad of a situation as some seem to think, but we definitely need to inject some quality youth along the line. I won't hate on the #6 pick at all if we come away with the likes of Adams or Okoye. If we go another route like safety or WR I'm going to be disappointed. |

Re: Skins stuck at No. 6?
IMHO, Griffin is absolutely dominant when healthy. Unfortunately, he's been injured a lot lately. If he's health again, I'm convinced he'll return to form.

Stu, who's going to be better if we wait until next year? Because if there is a prospect whos honest to god better than Okoye next year, why not take Okoye this year and that hypothetical player next year. Isn't that what Jacksonville did with Stroud and Henderson? I'd say they are sustaining their defense pretty well.

Re: Skins stuck at No. 6?
Uh...not just because i say so. Its because both have recouped from injuries, and now we have Salvae subbing out with Golston who will have a better year now that he's progressing into his second. U act as if im saying that our line is great or something. I believe the acquistion of CJ would be worth running with the same line as last year. I do Believe we will be better against the run with minor improvements in the linebacking corps and secondary. With your response I'd love nothing better than to say your wrong, yet i know that our tackles are a year older and Daniels has been fairly unproductive. The idea of CJ and Jason Campbell makes me willing to run with them another year...therefore is suggest to trade up

Anybody's guess..... we'll know in two weeks and two days for sure.
I still hope we find a partner and trade down. More Picks

Golston will improve for sure, although he hasn't shown much to begin with.

Re: Skins stuck at No. 6?
I do not know much about Charles Johnson' career at Georgia, but I do know his draft stock has been falling. Do you know why, because that could be an important thing to know before we draft him?

Re: Skins stuck at No. 6?
At first we all wanted Allan Branch, then we wanted Gaines Adams, ESPN releases their aritcle on Okoye now we should draft him 6th? Has he actually replaced Gaines as the can't miss prospect? I don't know, seems as the national consensus is that Calvin Johnson is the truth. I don't want to defend not bolstering the line because we are sorely in need of help but no of us really no exactly how much it would cost to move up to 2 or 3. So wide reciever is not a pressing need, ok, but i don't want to walk away from the next Marvin Harrison with Randy Moss/Terrell Owens ability for a Tommie Harris. I should end by saying if the acquistion became to costly, ie. trading away a intergal part of the team then we should stand pat or trade back to bolster the D.
