When it's 4th down and you up by 38 or more points late in the game why not kick the FG? Going for it there is classless and disrespectful. Gibbs wouldn't do it. As several others have mentioned it will come back to get them. On the other hand the Patriots destroyed us physically and mentally. The rag tag right side of our OL is horrid. Samuels isn't playing well. Vrabel got around Wade, Sellers and Portis to force one of those fumbles. Just pathetic uninspired play. Sad. I can only pray we bounce back next week or things will get a whole lot worse. For now keep our heads up. Screw the Patriots, Classless Bellichek and cockyass Brady. Man I haven't disliked a team this much since Deion played for the Cowboys. Tomorrow we start working on the Jets...

Come on, coaches have the perogative to do what ever they want. The Art of War, I think that might be more along with his philosophy. What else is he supposed to do we could not stop it and played down right mistake filled football. We are disappointed as fans of our team we love and we have to realize that until we are able to correct these mistakes and keep our offensive line healthy we will continue to have these problems. Remember the fact that the effort level was not as prevalent after awhile as I think our defense was exhausted and we started to landslide. If anything this will serve as a powerful reminder that we have a lot of work to do as a team to compete at the level of a team that does not make many if any mistakes and is continuing to get ready by the week. If we want to get better we have to commit less mistakes and take a page out of the Patriots book and operate on all cylinders as well as "EXECUTE" which is something that the Patriots (especially) and the Colts do better than anyone else in the league. To be honest I think that this "embarrasment" will serve us better in the long run as we will hopefully unlike last week (although we won) will not be able to compete with the elite until we are able to fix/correct these mistakes. They are costly and could derail our season. We have all of the components necessary to make a run and can compete with the best if we learn a valuable lesson from this experience! Hopefully we finally will!!!!

I feel like if they are going to run up the score we should have let them and started going after their season by all out blitzing brady, then they would take his ass out earlier

I don't see why running up the score is the same as "doing what he needs to" or being "all about winning." Did Gibbs, Walsh, Knoll, Landry, Lombardi, etc. do that? No. The Pats won, and by a lot. Adding extra TDs on top serves no purpose but to humiliate your opponent. This is sports--there's still something called "sportsmanship." The classy move is to kick the FG--and it's not like they need more practice scoring or converting.

The point is that all of the other coaches I know of who had dominant teams did not do this--why is Belichick more about winning than all these ledgends when he does it? Classless, however a skilled coach he is.

(BTW, Do you think Dungy would do that? Not a chance--he's a class act. He's got an undefeated team as well, and they're the SB champs--you don't have to run it up on folks to be a winner in this day and age.)

What are the Pats supposed to do not play anymore. Maybe us fans should be upset that the D couldnt stop anyone all day and the o was inept as usual. This game shows what a well disciplined, well coached team can do. Unfortunately the Skins are neither.

I'd be willing to bet that those that seem to have no problem with the Pats running up the score would be furious if the Skins were doing the same thing.

I would love to see Brady get his knee blown out while he's tossing his 5th TD during meaningless garbage time in a game.

I just cant see how NE could have done it any differently. They went for it on 4th instead of kicking a FG. The FG would have been rubbing the Skins noses in it. At least the Skins had a chance to stop them on 4th and they couldnt.

I have no problem with any team scoring as much as they can. The only way to disrespect the game is to stop playing hard. You cant tell guys that want to get noticed or keep their jobs to stop playing.

How do you manage to twist things around so much that kicking a field goal in lieu of trying to convert on 4th down is running up the score. Talk about mental gymnastics.

I didnt say kicking the FG was running up the score, I said kicking a FG would be rubbing the Skins noses in it more than giving them a chance to make a stop on 4th down.
