Ok you guys are getting me psyched up about this game. If we win I'll upgrade my membership to show my dedication to the forum and the team.

It sucks, of course it sucks, no fan enjoys losing.

But what's even more frustrating is that it seems we can't even come onto this site, a REDSKINS FAN SITE, to boost our spirits and rally around our team. Instead, we have the usual "Joe must go" "This team is heading in the wrong direction" thread. Sad part is we even get those after wins. You'd think we'd never won a game ever the way some people talk.

So, call me crazy, call this thread 'retarded' all you want, but it's high time we got some more positive vibes going here. Of course, I know there will be those "I'm just being a realist" responses. But the reality is that we're 5-4 and plenty of teams around the NFL are in worse shape than us. And there is a lot to feel good about 9 games into the season. That so few people see that on a Redskins fan site is a shame.

Call it bold, call it stupid. But I'm saying right here right now that the Redskins will be 6-4 after next Sunday. Someone has to think positive, it might as well be me. If we lose, I'll use the infamous Parrot avatar for two weeks. If we win, I'm banning 10 of you for two weeks

I'm about to do a Kool-Aid keg stand, who's with me?

Smooty you goof, we just lost ST for two weeks. You think Romo is going to blow it in Dallas? Kool Aid my ass!!!!!!!! You must be smokin some high powered crack from the streets of DC!!!!!!! Crazy man, just crazy!!!!!! If we pull it off somehow it will be the greatest upset in the history of what is left of this rivalry. Dallas is going to score 35 points on us without ST though, so if you think we are going to win JC better throw 6 TDs.

Well when I started this thread, I didn't know the status of Taylor's injury. But the point of this thread, as pointed out by Lady Brave and RobH4413, among others, was to get some positive vibes going on this site.

I think there should be more threads like the ones 12thMan and skinsfan242 did today about "Perspective" and "Good and Bad" (though esentially the same thread). We're not 9-0, we're not 0-9. We're 5-4, a decent team with vast room for improvement. I'm not happy that we lost, I'm never happy when the team loses but one of the reasons I joined this site was to be able to come one after a win or loss and discuss intelligently with fellow fans.

Instead it's become so that the worst part about losing isn't the loss, but the reactions of so many members here. When we lose we get "rediculously" stupid threads and every other person here wants to end their own life it seems and insult anyone who dares to have any hope.

It is, as I've mentioned throughout the site, going to be very difficult to beat the Cowboys this weekend. Impossible? No. Difficult. Absolutely. I'd like, and I'm sure others would too, to be able to discuss the upcoming game rationally.

But if there's going to such extreme negativism it seems the only way to respond is with the total opposite. Damn shame that there is so much wasted knowledge on this site lately.

As always SS, you have a way of putting it that makes perfect sense.

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas

How many picked the Rams to beat the Saints yesterday? How many picked us to beat the Saints last year? How many picked us to beat Dallas last year? How many picked Dallas to beat us when they went 1-15??? HOW MANY PEOPLE PICKED APP STATE TO BEAT MICHIGAN???????? It CAN happen!!! Honestly I don't know how some of these people get in front of the tv on Sunday to watch the game. Yes there's a good chance they will lose, but there's a CHANCE we will win!!! Either way, come Sunday...and EVERY Sunday during EVERY season....the jersey or shirt goes on, a beer goes in the hand...and the hope goes up!!! EVERY TIME!!!

REDSKINS 24 hours a day 7 days a week!

Hell yeah...pass some this way. If you really do attract what you think about, then we will lose for sure...we need more people thinking we will win.
We're GONNA WIN! You heard it here first! We can beat them!!!!

I like the vibes so I'm gonna keep it positive. I'm really liking some of the things our offense is doing right now. Campbell is obviously more than capable of being a very good signal caller and leader. I'm concerned about the fumbles, but the offense has been playing very well since the NE debacle. We need to let it all hang out against Dallas. I want to see an all out effort. Spread the offense. Jump head first into that 700 page playbook and have some fun. Take some pressure off the banged up defense for once. We gotta come to butt heads and have fun. Let's make the odds makers look like A-Holes for making us 11 point dogs.

That was probably the most encouraging aspect of Sunday's game. If this is what he looks like with 16 games under his belt, I can't wait to see what he will do in a year or so. And if JC turns out to be the QB we've longed for, all front office shortcomings or coaching woes go right out the window.

Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas

Not sure anyone actually reads my posts, but I usually throw in jibes at the kool-aid drinkers because, well...it's easy and those avatars are ridiculous (Hey! I can spell!).

However, for one week, and one week only, I'll belly up to the bar and help kick the kool-aid keg(s). Support the team I've loved since I was old enough to pick up a football and do the Heisman pose. It's so easy to be negative about this team, their lack of ability to finish off teams, the injuries. However, this team has equaled their win total from all of last year already...the potential is there, they just have to execute.

And what better way than to do it on the career-killing turf of Texas Stadium.

Oh, and I've elected RobH to be my official spokesman this week...so direct any and all questions to him, as I'll be too busy trying to get the kool-aid mustache off my face.

I did read your post .

I don't know if it was mentioned or not, but I think fans should realize that JC is partly to blame for all this. I listen to the John Thompson show and he was saying that people are sort of affraid of pointing fingers at JC.

JC is young, sure, but he has been playing for a while now. When is he going to develope to a good QB? He hasn't been making good decision by holding the ball or over-throwing (sometimes wide open) receivers.

If the Skins will have any chance, it will be with JC stepping up and making good decisions and good throws. To borrow from your post:

And what better way than to do it on the career-building turf of Texas Stadium.

I don't think anyone is afraid to point fingers at Campbell's performance. Most of us are just willing to let him take his lumps since he's been showing promise.

And considering he's just recently started his 16th game, I think he's ahead of schedule when compared to a lot of other young starters like Eli Manning, Rex Grossman, Alex Smith, Matt Leinart, etc.
