Re: Who is Next?
I said other. I WANT Williams to stay on and be the HC for continuity reasons. But if you look at the last 4 hires, there's no indication the daniel would do that. IF we go out and get someone from outside the organization, we're probably fucked for the next two seasons.

Re: Who is Next?
I want Williams or Saunders due to the fact that a new coach could come in and clean house. This team is alot closer than anyone realizes. This creates alot more concern. If GW gets the gig does AS stay and vice versa. What is gonna happen to Joe Bugel? Gibbs longtime friend. I respect Joe for his decision and hope this will work out for the best. I will loose what little hair i have left on my head if we as Skins fans have to go through another Turner/Marty/Spurrier era. Its just not fair.

Re: Who is Next?
It should be GW. He's earned it and has been with the team for 4 years now. If there's anyone who knows team as good Gibbs does, its Williams.
Promote Blache to Asst.Head Coach defense. I wonder about what will happen to Bugel. If he goes, who do we bring in to coach the o-line? Ray Brown? |

Re: Who is Next?
I'm with the crowd that would like to see Grilliams become HC with Saunders stay on as OC. I see NO reason to change either coordinator and I see numerous reasons to keep both. I'm not sure that Grilliams' cocky and brash personality will win the "hearts and minds" of the players, but I want to see as little turnover as possible. I swear, just when familiarity starts to breed wins, we tend to blow the whole thing up and start from scratch. I pray we don't blow things up this go around.

Re: Who is Next?
I have a really bad feeling about next year. I hope I'm wrong but this team has been the antithesis of "change is good."

I have a real good feeling about next year, and as long as there isn't that much turnover I think we could contend for another Super Bowl!

Re: Who is Next?
I'd like to go on record now as saying that if we hire Pete Carroll (sp?) we are royally fucked. That'll go down like the demon seed of Nick Saban and Bobby Petrino.

Re: Who is Next?
I like how some liked to bash GW a few years back for all the "dumb" things he was doing on D, going from a Top 10 Defense to one of the lowest the next year around. Now apparently he is the next best thing and the fix to our problems.
I love continuity but hate inconsistency that he brings. |

Re: Who is Next?
I think Greg Williams has earned a shot...he's learned some things since the Buffalo experience...I think Al Saunders will be fine remaining as OC.
I would, however like to see Dan hire a GM.

Re: Who is Next?
As JLC pointed out, hiring a GM would pretty much mean the end for Vinny Cerrato. I know you're probably thinking, "Nice, we'll kill two birds with one stone," but Danny is pretty tight with Vinny so I'm not sure we'll ever hire a GM.

Re: Who is Next?
Williams....Doug Williams
Seriously though, I'm suppose it probably should be Gregg Williams if he wants it. Although, Gibbs' resignation as President as well has me thinking the next guy may be HC/President. I don't see Gregg Williams in that capacity. Then again Gibbs has been sure to include him in all personnel discussions/meetings (not just for the defensive players). Anyhow, I don't think Williams will just be handed the HC job. Doesn't the Rooney Rule basically prevent that from happening?

Bringing in Cowher would probably mean a change from the offensive stylings of Al Saunders and would be another turn in the learning process for Campbell. That said though, a Cowher style of offense you'd expect would be much simpler for a QB with less pressure to perform on him (and more on the running back) and maybe the team feels that's what Campbell is best suited for? The whole thing is just crazy right now.
