Re: Tom Brady out for the year

I hope Brady comes back and it recovers 100%. But when will these guys learn? All right handed QB's should have on a knee brace on the left leg cause their plant legs are the most vunerable. Not saying it would've saved his knee cause it didn't work on Carson Palmer but it might have.

Re: Tom Brady out for the year

I guess I am in the minority here, especially when I say that even with Brady out for the year, the Patriots are still a team that will attain double digit wins.

They can still end up 10-6 or even 11-5 when the smoke clears. Say what you want about Bellicheat, but the fact of the matter is the Patriots are the best coached team in the league. Say what you will, but he keeps that team grounded and on the same page.

Second, it was not that long ago in 1999 or 2000, that the Patriots starting QB went out with an injury and an unknown, backup 6th round pick named Tom Brady stepped in and blew everyone away.

Third, the Pats have the EASIEST regular season schedule in the league.

And lastly, if you have to use a back up like Cassel, then look at the talent surrounding him. Moss, Watson, Maroney, Faulk, Welker. Not to mention a veteran defense that knows how to keep thier team in the game until the final gun sounds.

With the talent, coaching and schedule I think Cassel is programmed for success. If he blows this chance, it is unilkely he will succeed any where in the league.

I agree.

I said earlier in this thread I thought they were a 13-3 team with Brady, 10-6 without him.

I was just talking to my brother about this, (he's a pats fan) he wanted to make a bet with me about the Skins / Pats record. The better the record will determine the winner. I told him his division sucks, so he can have a good 10 wins, but the Skins have the toughest division bar none, so getting 9 wins for us would be a feat.
The Pats still have good talent, and I still see them in the playoffs, but they won't go far.

How many Superbowl wins does Bledsoe have???
Oh yeah, none!

I wish Brady well on his LONG road to recovery.
On my second knee injury, I tore my (R) ACL and bucket handle tears on my meniscus. It is a slow and painful rehab. Six to eight weeks of NO weight bearing on the leg after surgery, because of the meniscus repair. That really slows down recovery and causes alot more muscle atrophy than just a plain ACL recontruction surgery. It is a long and painful road back for Brady.

It might not, but after how the Colts looked last night and Brady's injury, there' not likely to be any 14-2 or 15-1 teams this year. The only AFC squad that looked like "world beaters" was the Steelers.

Redskins will be 15-1.

Re: Tom Brady out for the year

I think if there are two teams whose QBs make them or break them, those two teams are the Pats and the Colts. Look at Manning and his first game of the season, he was rusty from being out in the preseason and lost to a Bears team out on a mission. The Pats were playing an inferior team in the Chiefs, but they did not have their typical success in points. I think they may be able to pull a winning record, but not the playoffs. You guys don't think that with Brady out, other AFC teams are not going to play with added motivation againts the Pats? If the Pats win 10 games without Brady, then Bill Belichick is a genius and Brady is just a good (not great) QB.

Wow, did they have to tase Belichick to release this injury report? "Don't tase me bro!"

Even thought I am a huge Redskins fan, I'm a fan of Tom Brady and his accomplishments. I hope he can recover from this and get back to business.
