Come on, he's already the Gun Salesman of the Year....give him more time, I'm sure we'll eventually rename a State after him.

Re: Official Inauguration Day Thread

I think my expectations were simply too high. I wanted him to deliver memorable words like "I have a dream" and was quite disappointed when none of his words stuck. Maybe if I watch the speech after some time has passed I might see things differently.

Anywho, I like the fact that he made it easier for citizens to request government documents through Freedom of Information Act, instructed the military to close gitmo and ordered a review of all the cases of detainees on his first day.

I don't know about that dude. Bush is gone, but his screw-ups remain and will remain for a while. Just because Bush is gone doesn't mean that there is nothing wrong with this country. It just means that he can't screw anything else up. So I'm going to keep on mentioning Bush until there is not one screw up left to fix. It might be a while so please be patient!

Great so I can keep mentioning Clinton and Johnson and FDR too. And let's not even begin with the Congress.
My point is our country, good as it is, is in a constant state of problems. Obama, like every other politician, knows that when they take office, and has to deal with what they were dealt. Please look at my sig to see what Obama said towards your comment.

If you would not mind, please post the date (so we can all take note) when President O'Bama will be running the country and accountable for same.....or will it be a ...changing kind of thing?

Yep, we're officially on Obama's watch right now. It sucks that he stepped into a big steaming pile of 'W' dung but that comes with the territory. It's his job to clean it up.

While he has many problems to deal with. W is hardly responsible for all our ills as we have been on the Dem watch in Congress for some time, etc.
AND during his many campaign speeches, President O made mention of the mess things were in, in them all. In none of them did he mention he could not repair .....said ills.......expeditiously.
I for one, hope he can!

Hey Trample, the general contractor is a blue devil alumnus. Have you ever heard of the name Jason McCune?

But anyway, I've been working out there for about 2 years now. The project is pretty much wrapping-up now with just a few add-ons here and there. We are putting your hard earned tax dollars to good use out there. Before that school went under renovation, it was a terd. Now after the renovation, it is a well polished terd.

Back in my day as a Henrico Warrior, I ran around with some Blue Devils. Oh, who in the hell puts a school in the middle of a corn field anyway?

Sounds familiar? But then again everyone in Varina knows each other or used to. Putting tax dollars into a Henrico school? I'd rather have a brand new Juvenile Hall for my money but at least they're not snorting it up. Yes back in the day they used to ride their tractors to school. Now Varina is going the way of Highland Springs. (Back then they used to bring guns to school in the back of their pick ups but never shot anyone.)That's why their building a new high school in Elko.
I was just thinking that Macho Harris came out of Highland Springs. They used to have a beast for a football squad. Then again it's hard to compete with guys in their thirties. I was at Varina when Jay Strath was there. I hear he went to UVA but didn't keep track of him.
