Not to waste anyone's time who'd rather not read an OT post, the rant below is pointed to GusFrerotte and other SC detractors:

How the hell would SC have 3-4 losses every season in the SEC and Big 12 or 1-2 in the Big 10 when there are undefeated teams that come out of those conferences every so often? You're either saying SC can't hang with the best teams from those conferences or you're saying you've never watched SC before.

Point 1 - SC has destroyed every SEC team they've played in the past few seasons. Including a 23-0 stomping at Auburn's Jordan Hare stadium. Tigers were SI's preseason #1 and started veterans such as Ronnie Brown, Cadillac Williams, Karlos Dansby and two guys named Carlos Rogers and Jason Campbell. Did I mention that was QB Matt Leinart's first college start ever? And freshmen Reggie Bush and Lendale White's first game.

Not mention a home and home against Arkansas that resulted in a combined score of 120-31. Mighty Trojans drop 50 against Arky in their own house, in a year the Razorbacks become SEC West champ!

Point 2 - Big 12? I think someone forgot the 2004 national championship game in Miami between undefeated USC and undefeated Oklahoma. 38-10 by halftime and the OU offensive linemen were literally asking our defensive guys for mercy in the second quarter. I'll give you Texas' victory a few years ago... but even then, one of the best players in college history named Vince Young had to put together a crazy performance to barely scrape by in the last few seconds. He may has well have worn an "S" on his chest that day.

Point 3 - Big 10? Do you even watch college football? SC has played in 5 out of the last 6 Rose Bowls, 4 of which have been against Big 10 teams. Ask Michigan, Penn State and Illinois if SC would have lost any Big 10 games that season. Just last season, what was the score between SC and Ohio State (the top Big 10 school at the time)? 35-3.

In summary: If a team can go undefeated in their conference and subsequently proceeds to get walloped by a "sissy" Pac-10 school in the bowl game, there's a better than average chance that said "sissy" could go unscathed in that opponent's conference. And I wouldn't be quick to discredit the Pac-10 as a whole, either- 5-0 in bowl games last season. Every conference has its ups and downs- and the even the mighty SEC had a down season last year. Just like we have our USCs and Oregons, we also have our Washingtons and Stanfords. Just like the SEC has its Floridas and LSUs, it also has its Vanderbilts and Mississippi States.

/rant. Now back to your regularly scheduled freaking out about Mark Sanchez... coming from an SC guy who agrees that we should not draft him.

If We swap up, I just hope the player is an immediate impact. Why didn't
we pick up a DE b4 all options were used up( maybe Canty??), therefore clearing
the way for picking up a great LB( Maluga) or a O Lineman

Yea, I'm still very leery about Sanchez.. I really would like to draft a special player with our first pick. I mean someone who will come in and light it up right away.... Sanchez is definitely not that guy!

That's really not "prototypical" QB size these days.

Not saying he's small or anything, but he's right on that line of what teams consider undersized.

Yes, I agree lets not just look at W/L's. Lets look at real stats. Cutler had twice as many TD's with his 25 compared to JC with his 13 but Cutler threw 3 times as many INT at 18 compared to JC's 6. So what if Cutler threw for 1,200 more yards. Cutler is only 1.7 points ahead in his QB rating. Not much if you ask me. I didn't even get into that I heard JC ran for more yrds then Cutler. Who cares they are close in talent. If we are going after a better QB lets actually get a better QB not one with similar traits and stats.

The sad part in all of this is I have come to dislike Sanchez and it is not the guy's fault that Danny and Vinny just aren't getting it! I am preparing for the Skins to screw up yet another draft and take Sanchez just because Danny and Vinny are getting hard ons when they think of drafting a QB from USC.

Love to see the Skins take a play out of the Pats' draft day strategy and hold on to their picks. Sort of scary to think they have 11 this year. This is a team if they draft right and stay healthy will be in the thick of things after the regular season.
