Agree with GMScud. I remember JC over-throwing some deep balls or being too far inside/outside, but don't remember any under-thrown passes.

He overthrew mid-range balls but almost never deep ones. Its seems like every bomb to Moss, Moss has to slow down, turn around and sort of wait for the ball to get there. I kept thinking that they needed to adjust the WR routes to not out-run JC's arm.

If Jim Zorn wants to stay and not get fired he better get his quarterback quick.
I know I should "just walk away", but here we go again.....

Yes, even though JC's most productive season in college was in a WCO system ???? Even though he was being discussed as a Pro Bowl QB and even MVP in the first half of the season ????

Colt played in a WCO at Hawaii ???? The WCO normally requires a QB with an almost side-arm release, with sub-par arm strength, with little experience under center, and questionable decision making. Colt hasn't started a PRE-SEASON game yet. The NFL is a much different ball-game than the WAC. I don't see Colt beating out Collins for # 2.

C'mon you're throwing out the same tired mis-statements about JC. Bottom line is he improved his QB rating over 7 points from '07 to '08, with a worse OL than '07 and not much help at WR. If he does the same this year, he'll have a QB rating over 90, which is pretty darn good.

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?

we love to name drop "west coast offense" on this forum. There are so many variations of it at this point, i don't think it's practical to label a qb as West Coast capable.

I agree with you here, but shouldn't the same concept imply to outsiders judging a man's intangibles? We can't--literally are not reasonably capable--of seeing or evaluating intangibles. I have my questions that even the coaches, or other insiders, are capable of grading intangibles. So if coaches can't neccessarily see intangibles, and if we can't see them, do they matter?

This, essentially, is Matty's argument above.

I think the skins are going to have a great year. They will get either to the superbowl or the NFC championship game on Jason's back. He'll be the hottest free agent but we will franchise him.

There are a couple of clips. One, was DT's only TD that was called back, he was so open, and JC was throwing on the run, but DT basically just stopped and waited for the ball to come to him. Another was the Santana Moss catch in the NO game, he definitely had to slow down, and the defender almost caught him. Only two I remember offhand

Re: Will Jason Campbell return?

The worst was in '07 I think when JC overthrew his receiver on a streak right up the middle...somehow he was already behind the FS so it was a TD if the pass was there. The reason it stuck w/ me is cuz Buges effing lost it on the sideline...threw his hands up in disgust and just let the tongue roll.

...JC has struggled w/ accuracy off and on w/o question. The worst last year IMO was a short pass to a wide open Portis that somehow was well behind and too high...i think this one got picked off. Anyway, Jason has shown he can throw a good ball it's just a matter of consistency. Zorn working w/ him gives me confidence overall...JC will continue to improve, even markedly. Everybody just chill a bit...

If you're talking about the one against Pittsburgh...oh man Randy Thomas got killed off the snap. Still, you'd like to see some touch on the ball even under duress. Though, in Jason's defense, it only ended up as an INT instead of an incompletion because Portis reached well outside his frame to catch the errant throw, and just batted it up in the air.

With two quiet weeks looming until organized team activities resume June 1, this seems like a good time to get your take on the team's burning issues. First up: the QB or, as Jim Zorn says it, the kewbie. Given that owner Daniel Snyder attempted to trade for Jay Cutler and considered moving up in the NFL draft to select quarterback Mark Sanchez, Jason Campbell's status is questionable.

Do you think this will be quarterback Jason Campbell's last season with the Redskins and why?
If the skins do not win this year then Campbell will be among a long list of players and coaches on this team that do not return.

When exactly did he admit to forgetting plays? That's a new criticism. I thought I'd heard them all but 'forgetful' is a new one!

They're coming fast and furious lately huh...

Doesn't have a strong arm, can't remember plays, no emotion, etc.
