OK so Tebow who plays in the same SYSTEM that gave us ALEX SMITH needs to just bypass the draft and go home after greduation. many would disagree

And if you think our oline is bad how come big ben can play a whole season with their oline which allowed the most sAcks in the league and he wins a super bowl (ya I know they had the best defense, but ours wasn't to far off and we had a much better RB then theirs)
Actually JC has gotten better. Look at JC's stats and you will see continual improvement despite the fact that he has not been a starter very long.

I'll take Jaws opinion over yours, Danny's and VC's when it comes to QBs. What about Zorn, his job is on the line everyday, don't you think he's going to put the best players on the field? Your logic on this is questionable at best....actually it's more along the lines of what Ruhskins described.
Your zorn arguement is a good one, but your listening to one crappy opinion, Jaws, really?!?!? What's this quirky motion he keeps talkin' about...joe theisman is the one I'd be listening to, during the preseason he said what we all saw during preseason, which is that sure all these critics say this and that about colt, but when he plays, he's like Brett favre, he has "it", where he just goes out there and slings it, remember against the jets, they came with an all out blitz, he thought they would come with it, he audibled, and threw a quick dart to Jason goode the TE from Maryland ...now Jason Campbell playing pitsburgh they come with an all out blitz he isn't sure if it's coming and decides to run out of the pocket, but gets smacked into the sidelines by Lawrence timmons...just one thing I like about colt than Campbell,

I think it's time to move on to either Colt or Chase.

You need to have more than "it" to make it as a starter in the NFL. And you really don't see a quirky motion with Colt? I mean, it's not like it can't work. Kosar was the ugliest passer ever and Jeff George had one of the best arms. But Bankrupt Bernie's NFL career will be remembered more fondly. And it's not like Campbell can't and hasn't made plays before (see Saints game 2008)

Re: Colt Brennan Says He'll "Play A Ton" In The Preseason

I'd like to see someone, Colt or Chase, emerge enough to allow the team to feel comfortable enough to move Collins out of here. I like Collins and what he did for us in 2007, but I'd like to see us move forward without him as we are doing with guys like Jansen and Thrash (and maybe Rock?).

I think Colt and Chase are both very intriguing prospects who have the potential to be backup QBs in this league, and maybe even starters - Chase will be a Hall of Famer of course - but I don't think this team would be better off with either of them starting this year than Jason Campbell. I think he's our best chance

I think Colt will have his chance, though that may not be this year. I figure if he doesn't make #2 this year, he definitely will next year. Collins is an old man, with a noodle arm (though a decently accurate one). Collins though, unlike Colt has proven himself as a solid backup.

I wouldn't go so far as to call Colt a potential future face of the franchise, but like I said in another thread, with some more fine tuning, and the possibility of JC bombing at QB this year (though I definitely don't wish that upon the team. I'd like to witness a Skins Superbowl for once in my life), who knows what could happen.

I think Colt having a stellar preseason is the best thing that can happen to Chase. If Colt emerges as a solid #2 option, there's no reason to keep Collins around as a 38 year old, $3M/yr emergency guy.

Yes, I remember that play, and I also remember thinking that, if he had thrown that ball against a first team defense, it would have been intercepted.

Comparing Colt against the Jets' third team with JC against the league's best defense is as unfair as it is foolhardy.

The skins defense wasn't that far off from the steelers??? You have to be joking. There was a big difference between the #1 defense compared to our team #4 defense. Don't let the #4 ranking fool you into think the skins defense was on the same level as Pitt. The Steeler were ranked 3rd in sacking the Qb of opposing teams compared to for the skins ranking 28th. The Steelers sacked the QB 51 times. The Steelers had one safety and return two of those fumbles for TDs off those sacks. The skins sack the QB 24 times and return none the fumbles for a TD. The skins also had zero safeties. The Steelers ranked 6th interceptions whereas the skins ranked 17th. The Steelers had 20 int compared to the skins 13. The Steelers returned 2 TDs from those interceptions. How many int did the skins defense return for a TD?? Zero.

Big Ben had 17 TDS, 14 int, threw for about 3,300 yds(80.1 rating) whereas JC had 13 TDs, 6 int, and threw for about 3200 yards (qb rating 84.3) There stats are very close.

According to you the skins have a better QB and Oline, but still couldn't make the playoffs and your suggesting it is due solely to JC.

Flacco threw for less yards, but one more TD than Campbell
Collins threw for less yards, but one less TD than Campbell
Delhomme threw for about 50 more yards, two more TDs than Campbell.

The Panthers, Titans, and even Bmore made the playoffs with subpar QB play, but the skins couldn't??

What these stats show is that other teams can have subpar QB play/ make the playoffs and still win a superbowl. How come the skins can't????

This shows maybe the problem with the skins last year was more than just the QB.

You forgot to tell us that JC threw 5 fewer interceptions last year, despite more attempts, and his passer rating went up seven points. He also reduced his fumbles. That's improvement.

You also forgot to tell us that last year was JC's first full year as a starter. Many top QB's take several full years as a starter to develop. Therefore, not much patience has been asked of us so far.

Improvement with JC will be when he gets us in the playoffs not increasing his TDs by a few and decreasing his ints by a few
