Yeah the line i got was 3 1/2. If I could bet against us I'd do it. But I can't do it. Skins have not covered all year. This game has trap written all over it. I'd say Carolina wins and covers but I hope like hell I'm wrong.

Alright, its my turn:


During halftime there were no speeches, but the coaches were helping out their players. According to CC, he gathered Moss,JC, and Portis to just say lets make some plays.

Well it worked!

This week vs. the panthers the skins will need to do the following:

1. Run Defense- The Panther are capable to kick our tails on the ground (Preseason 08), but if the D can build what they did to the bucs' RBs, we will be straight in this category.

2. Pass Defense- I hope Blache can keep up with the blitzing from last game. JD is the opposite of Josh Johnson. What i mean is he is not a mobile QB. So if they can stop the run, than JD will be forced to make plays by his arm. This can go two ways:
DHall can shutdown SSmith(*fingercross*), than im sure that with the blitz we can produce turnovers.
Or we could get eaten up in the secondary like MStafford did(somehow).
I hope that CRogers catches 2INTs(i know, i know).

3. Run Offense- To be honest, against the Panthers 32nd ranked rush D... Portis+Mason= The first OFFENSIVE(Not STeams) rush TD!

4. Pass Offense- JC needs more than just Cooley and Moss. He needs some targets, or else itll be another defensive game.(the boring ones)

5. FGs- hopefully they are all offensive nonblocked extra points!
Punts- I dont if Hunt the Punt. will be healthy enough, but if " that other guy" has to play i hope he puts us in a good defensive position. I hope we keep punts to a minimum.

6. The First Drive/ 3rd Quarter/Second Half- These are all pivotal moments that will need to be executed pefectly in order to take this game.

First Drive- Momentum is the ____ to the ____( * add quote there*)

3rd Quarter- For the second straight game we have benn clicking in this quarter. Its also the panthers worst quarter stat-wise.
Second Half- If the redskins are winning (hopefully by a touchdown or two) we would have to close the game. Simple!

7. Jim Zorn/ Sherman Lewis- Im intersted to see if he really can help this potential-filled-struggling-offense.

8. Faith, Motivation and Support- Us Fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carolina isn't anywhere near as bad as the Bucs and we play them in Carolina. Redskins lose this one and it wont even be close.

Rooting blindly and rooting as a realist are two totally different things.

I'm sure Lions fans root for their team to win week after week but know that they probably won't.

I don't get why people who see flaws in their team are somehow less of a fan than people who are blind homers. Maybe it's just me, but I see there's an obvious line growing and there shouldn't be.

Good one Dynamite. Too many folks call other fans haters if they don't see a win coming our way on Sunday or don't like an aspect of how the team is playing. A fan should stay hopeful/positive for sure, but there are times when you know you are porbably going to bite the dust. My brother in law is a die hard Lions fan, always will root for them even if he thinks they will lose. I hope the Skins beat Carolina and somehow turn it around, but recent history has shattered those hopes time and time again. Just can't see us making the playoffs playing as poorly as we are now.

One of the best things I ever read on this site was Daseal's signature: "Apparently not having unrelenting optimism means you're not a fan."

I will root for the Redskins always, but I'm not expecting diddly poo at this point. The way I see it, with the Redskins, expectations are premeditated resentments.

There's a difference in that though too. Optimism is one thing, but you know you're drinking kool-aid when you're thinking the Skins are going to put up 30+ a game when we haven't done that in something like 20+ games I think it was I heard? I could be wrong.

Optimism is fine, but blind faith is dangerous and then people wanna say that because people are pointing out flaws in the team and saying okay we're facing XYZ team this week, and here are the reasons I don't think we'll win, they get accused of being a hater and they must not be true fans and they must want the Skins to lose.

I mean, come on. Really?
