Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!

Every game was carbon copy. Big hole, decent run. Small hole, 2 yards. No hole, no gain. Average two minor injuries a game, not enough to miss games but just enough to ineffective the majority of the time. Throw in your costly gamebreaking fumble about every other game and you have Portis the last two years. Yeah and dont throw in a "Oh sorry your team sucks right now". You will be reminded of your franchise's history

history is history and you can chant all you want about how good your redskins were in the past.....but guess what.....the past doesnt do any good this year......your boys are 2-6 and my boys are 8-0 with the best offense and best scoring defense in the league you can tell me about the past all you want but facts are facts and your team is hopeless this season while mine is running this league like a treadmill the combined record of your opponents is 22-43 while ours is 29-36 not only have we won more games, our opponents are better.......and the 2 teams you beat by a combined score of 5 points? have a combined record of 2-14.....2 of the worst teams in the league......but you also lost to 2 of the 1-7 teams i can see ive worn out my welcome here and i wish the best of luck to you guys.....but you are completely lost bro.....its too bad you've already played all the bad teams except cleveland because you wont win another game this year |

While you're boasting about your great record, I would take caution and look at the Patriots undefeated season, which netted them an embarrassing lost to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl. The San Diego Chargers also come to mind, who went 13-3 a couple of seasons ago, and got punched in the mouth during the playoffs. LT hasn't been the same since. The list is long with teams that are red hot during the season and flop during the playoffs. I happen to think the Vikings are the best team in the NFC right now, but we'll see what happens if/when you guys meet them in the playoffs. I think either team will represent well in the Super Bowl. That being said, you're welcome to come here and share, talk trash, or whatever. Seems like fans from across the league come here to offer their condolences once in a while. |

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
it's almost been 2 decades though, history is great and we do have the trophies in ashburn, but it sure would be nice to have one this century

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
I agree still the point is we HAVE a history, the braggart doesn't. Even going back 8 years where we have really struggled and NO has had lot of success they have only 3 more wins not counting this year.

but while your worried about trying to knock me down, remember that what is in the past is in the past for a reason....this is a new year and for all the great teams that you can name that didnt end up getting to the super bowl, i can name twice or 3 times as many that did go to the super bowl....and came out on top......sure records dont mean much once you get into the playoffs....but they do mean something....especially when homefield advantage comes into play.....playing at home througout the playoffs is a huge advantage especially when you play in a dome we are building our case to have homefield advantage this year.....while you guys are building your case to have the first pick in the draft i came here as a football fan that enjoys watching the saints.....i came here to talk football....not to talk about my saints sure i dont know everything about the redskins but i know enough to carry on a conversation.....i know enough football to offer suggestions and comments on whatever you guys are talking about you all are getting defensive because you think i came here to talk down to you.....if you guys can prove me wrong i welcome the idea.....but so far, at least in this thread, i havent seen much of an argument for why portis shouldnt play here i dont get to see the redskins all the time and i dont care much to....but stats are a great and very effective way to judge how a player plays and how well they stack up against other players from around the league.....from a statistical standpoint, portis is an elite back and there arent many reasons to rip him right now other than the team is losing the running game is almost always a result of how well the offensive line is playing.....the redskins offensive line is pretty terrible and yet, portis still manages to pull off 1400 yard seasons......that credit should go somewhere Quote:

over the past 4 seasons(under sean payton) we have made the NFC championship game, won our 2nd playoff game in franchise history......consistantly had the #1 offense in the league.....led the league in turnovers on defense and defensive TDs.....led the league in points per game, passing offense, total offense, and win percentage......our QB has the most passing yardage and TDs over the past 4 seasons of any QB in the league.....our QB has the 2nd most passing yards in a single season......our QB has also been sacked the least amount of times over the past 4 seasons than any QB....and considering we pass more than anybody(not this year tho) that sack stat is astounding so while you guys have a rich history over a longer period of time.....our time is now.....i dont care whether you credit us or not but eventually reality will set in and you'll understand why im so proud of my team after all these years on another note......sorry for taking up the entire page to post a rebuttle |

Portis has had enough and just doesn't care. He has the Barry Saunders' Syndrome. Guy has been one of the few t rue ballers out there for years, and now he has had enough. Seriously now, I think the guy has already thrown in the towel. Can you blame him? |

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
CP can still ball, he just doesn't have a line in front of him. He's lost a step but can still be productive. My problem w/ him is he never practices, he talks bad about his teammates, isn't the hardest worker around and he's too close w/ the owner. To me he seems like too much of a diva to keep around. The offense needs some leadership not divas. He needs to go next year IMO.
