Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
They have similar stats but like I have said over and over, stats dont tell the story. All the QBs except DG have lead their teams into the playoffs, JC hasnt. Heck, Ryan & Flacco did it when they were rookies who should have been struggling in a new system (as JC supporters like to think is a given). I will take any of these 3 QBs and 2 will be a huge improvement and 1 will be at least as good.

This scenario is my favorite choice.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
go ahead and blow our first pick on a qb, but give a year or two as backup. so i voted to keep JC. as much as he sucks, he is the best we have right now.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
No! He can't read defenses and will have to learn his # new offense (which seems to be a reason people give for his lack of development). He sucks in interviews and can't learn to slide!
I want a winner. Bring me Colt McCoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes....Given what any decent QB needs to be successful, he can be a winner. Give him a running game and pass protection, then be the judge.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
How can you give Campbell a free pass because of our Oline struggles but suggest we need a new RB who in turn runs behind that poor line?

I want to think they go hand in hand since the same line that blocks for the QB blocks for the running back. I have said before, because of all the breakdowns in this offense Campbell is difficult to evaluate.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
I had previously reversed my opinion on him and now I'm doing it again. Campbell has regressed against nfc east opponents and made unforgiveable mistakes. If were rebuilding, then let's do it right and get rid of everyone who's holding us back.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
To be honest BHA I think Campbell regressed after Zorn got a hold of him. We all know he had his flaws from the beginning, but Zorn has filled his head with so much over-coaching he's in a state of confusion. There were times and games while Al Saunders was working with him that I felt he was making the most progress. I watched Zorn's entire career as a player, he didn't exactly set the league on fire either. In more ways than one he has been more of a hinderance to campbell than a help, espically in that dink & dunk WCO.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
I agree Campbell would be a better player had saunders stayed and zorn never got a hold of him. But who really cares? Vinnys gone. Snyders stepped back. Allen here and shanahan will be too in a few days. Campbell spilled milk and I'm not crying over him. Time to move on.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
I'm not necessarily saying that I want Campbell back for the next 3 years but I am saying that I want to see what he can do with a legitimate head coach, a legitimate offensive line and a proven system.

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
Sorry now I'm bashing JC and I know this thread was not meant for that.
Throw him out with the bath water. Lets bring in fresh water. Don't feel bad though he's not the only one I'd get rid of. I think at this point I'd keep all the young guys that gave been here for less then 4 years and cut the rest. I'd keep AH also obviously. |

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
Best thread in a while....
I look at it this way. If you took JC and dropped him in NE what would they do? I think he's a 4000/30TD guy there. Certainly not as good as Brady but I think he'd succeed wildly. Is he ever going to be a dynamic play maker that turns turd players into gold like Manning or Brees? No. But he has the same physical skill set that Tom Brady does. He struggles mentally compared to Brady but he isn't a dolt. I do have suspicions about his read ability. Part of me wonders if he has so much football in his head that he is lost in a football jungle but I also see the guy get destroyed every other play, lay on the ground for a few seconds and then get up and take the next snap. If I am an offensive player that freaking inspires me. His on field example is just top-notch to me. And Rave...you forget what Ramsey was like after a couple seasons. JC is 5 times the QB Ransey ever was. He had didn't have the head for it at all and then he got scared. |

Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?
You should know by now that all you have to do is blitz him. He's got lead feet and has a strong tendacy to fumble the ball!! That's the kind of quarterback that def just look for once in a while. Of course, our Def right now is a whole different topic.
