Great article! I also heard mayock on Path to the Draft yesterday say that Locker could be a Franchise QB in the Shanahan system and that they better not get cute by trying to trade down and still get him.

Yeah I heard Mayock on that too. I think when all is said and done we won't trade down. I've read the Rams are fine with staying at #14. And more often than not it's not easy to trade in and out of a top 10 pick. I think we stay put and get the guy Shanahan would have had on his short list last year at #4.

I used to think that but not any longer. For me all it comes down to is: do you believe said QB is a first round talent?

Sure BPA is great but when you need a QB as much as we do and you believe he's a player that can lead your team, you don't worry if he's perceived as a top 10 talent or not.

This feels like the 2006 draft. A highly athletic QB coming off winning a National Championship. A highly touted pocket passer. Then a gunslinger QB prospect with accuracy questions from a mediocre team. Vince Young, Matt Leinert or Jay Cutler. Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert or Jake Locker.

Let's see if history repeats?

Locker at #10, obviously prefer trading down and still getting him, but he seems smart, tough and a natural leader which we need desperately on offense. he's gonna have a chip on his shoulder and bring passion to this team. he had an off year last season but i think he's going to be a true player in the league.

Yea, I like Locker a lot more after watching that.
I watched the Gabbert video too and he seems to be a bit of a dweeb.
Newton seemed ok....
