Ever hear of a QB from LSU named Russell? He looked great also in college. All kidding aside Jefferson just might be something to think about, but then LSU is in a league of its own. It boggles the mind why the NCAA doesn't investigate schools like OU or LSU. I mean please, Louisiana is a total shithole minus the Big Easy, and then even that isn't all that either. Same with Oklahoma, another average state university in a rather shitty state, but they have all these kids coming in to play football from all over the place. |

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Whoever wrote that they heard a rumor that Luck may stay, let me kill that rumor now. He was on ESPN with Steve Young a few weeks ago, and Steve asked him if it was his last year at Stanford. Andrew said Yes it is.
And yes, this QB class is 3 great QB's (should they all declare), 2 potentially good QB's, and a bunch of back ups and busts. Don't bother with Matt Flynn, he seems like a Kevin Kolb all over again. Go with the unknown, rather than the known or somewhat known. BTW part of the reason Flynn did so good against the Pats was because they didn't know what to expect from him.

In terms of why he'd stay? How about the return of all of the important skill players (in addition to possibly Kalil), the chance to win a ring and the potential to smash all quarterback records at USC. He's suffered through the sanctions... one more year may have been the reason he stayed. Having said that, it would be unreal if he went from the cardinal and gold to the B&G. |

I want nothing to do with the current stable of Bama and LSU QB's. If you must have an SEC QB, Aaron Murray seems like a good option for down the road.

Or Zach Mettenberger in a couple of seasons.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
Not only do the Redskins not have a long-term solution at the position in either Rex Grossman or John Beck, they've won enough to be well out of the Andrew Luck race. Washington could be better served trying to deal for a quarterback, or getting into position for a guy like Matt Barkley or Landry Jones. But there's a problem: If you think the Skins have a roster that's ready to compete for a playoff position in 2012 -- and I certainly think they could -- do you really want a rookie in there? I wonder if the Redskins are a team that looks at a trade for a current starter, or targets a guy who might be ready to take over, such as Matt Flynn or Brian Hoyer. Either way, this is a team that is in desperate need of a solution.

I think Hoyer is going to be a hot commodity, but not necessarily deservedly so

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
You mean like the system Cam Newton played in at Auburn? LOL systems help but its the player that can make a system better. The so called experts did not think Cam would start out this good.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
I would rather for us to draft a QB in the 1st round if we thought he could be our starter the 1st year or 2 . If he is not take the best player available at that spot and get a QB in the 2nd round. I would be ok with Rex coming back to compete with our rookie QB.

Re: 2012 QB Prospects (Part 2)
That could be RGIII next year if he comes out, both great athletes. I still want Barkley since we will have no Luck.
