If the team that had the Luck pick also had Peyton Manning, then I have to imagine it would have.

I dont like this trade at all. I dont mind the 3 first but the 2nd is what kills it

Not only that, but Ryan Tannehill has to bust out of the league pretty quickly, or we would have been way better off with him at no. 6.

Snyder has done it again, got the fans snagged on the hot sexy pick, hoping it will pan out. I think BA and Shanny are feeling the heat so they went against the plan to save their asses. I like RG III a lot, but 3 first rounders for a still unproven commodity at the NFL level is not wise.
I agree synder has not been the best owner, but the man spends money and wants the team to win. He doesn't do interviews on espn and talk in the papers all the time like jerry jones and he still get all this crap.

So is it offical that its 3 firsts and a 2nd? Or might be we be getting a later round pick(s) somewhere too?

I mean, I wanted RGIII, I'm happy we got him... think it's too much, no doubt...

Agreed. That ups the value of the compensation by like 40%.

Re: Redskins agree to trade for No.2 overall pick in 2012 Draft

In team sports one guy isn't going to make a huge difference, unless you have a decent supporting cast. This team is deficient in too many areas to win, even with RG III. That is why I think this might bite us in the ass. Yeah Manning, Brees, Favre, and Rodgers won SBs, but their respective teams were teeming with Pro Bowl talent, talent in which we do not have right now. If we had a raelly good O line and a solid Wr corp and a D that could at least hold a team below 21 points, this deal would have been fine, but the team is like swiss cheese with the gaping holes we have in true starting caliber players. It is a great way to keep Fedex packed though!

Oh I remember another told you so moment with me and you a few years ago

Jared Veldheer

I said he never gave up a sack in college

Your smartass self said that you've 'seen' him give up a sack. Apparently you don't know what a sack is cause he never gave one up in college.

Fastforward to draft day raiders pick him Kiper says 'he never allowed a sack in college'

fastforward some more and Veldheer got a probowl alternate nod and recognition from other writers all of who bringing up that he never allowed a sack in college.

So Shanny now keeps his job for the remainder of his contract. Nice!

Yes. If Tannehill turns out to be very good, we will have been not just raped, but gang raped.

So 2 1sts and a 2nd. I don't love that it's the 2nd this year and not the 3rd, but hey, if he ends up a top NFL QB, then who cares really? Gotta give to get.
Good post Scud. In the end it's all about the bottom line (in your post.) If he turns out to be an elite qb, nobody will care about the price we paid to get him.

And on a side note, it definitely feels good to have the qb position taken care of, hopefully for the next decade minimum.

I wonder if the Browns were offering their two #1s this year and their #1 next year.
