The main thing I'm surprised over is the fact we were in it until the end. The offense didn't do much of anything from the first through the third. The defense kept letting them extend drives all night. The fact it came down to the end after all the penalties and injuries speaks volumes about what type of team we have.
Agreed, and in a very tough place for a road team to get a win, even in years when the Chiefs aren't as good as they are this year. I'm very optimistic moving forward. Just gotta get healthy.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

Overall I'm encouraged, not just for our prospects this season but very encouraged for the next few years.

Young defensive line making an impact. Offensive line performing near the top of the heap. Continued strong QB play. Aggressive defensive tone. We can run a little bit, and we stop the run. That sets up real well in November and December.

To me the season comes down to the division games. Beat the Eagles and we're in tremendous shape. Keep an eye on the Cowboys too because while they're defensively flawed they are still built to run.

I predict that the Eagles fade in the second half of the season when the weather turns, and the Skins and Cowboys battle it out for the division. I like our chances.

To me the next 2 games are must wins. Can't lose to 9ers because they suck and can't start 0-2 in division or lose both games to 1 team.

This bye week is a must win. But you know how we usually play during the bye....I just hope we don't get embarrassed.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

I guess technically no game is a must win until you have 6 losses. As 10 wins usually always gets you into the playoffs.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

It is obvious that Doctson has a superior skill set. I don't give a damn about practice and what not. Against SF put his ass out on that field and he only comes out when he's tired. Draw up 10 or so plays where you get him the ball. If they want to play Grant I'm fine with that, frankly he's kind of earned playing time, but you rotate him with Pryor or Crowder, not Doctson. It ain't that hard.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

Speaking of, I can't tell if Crowder disappeared on offense because he's not playing well enough, or if the defense is taking him out of every play because he's our most consistent threat. But it feels like Cousins isn't even giving him targets.

What is the argument for Perine getting snaps and Brown is inactive? I was looking at PFF...Perine is rated absolutely terrible. He needs to hit the bench and watch.

Yeah he needs to be inactive/PS rest of season. He just aint ready. Brown has earned a shot to play.

Re: Bittersweet post game thread.

It looks like the injury to Norman is MUCH worse than originally thought....
From
Butker's field goals send Chiefs to 29-20 win over Redskins (Oct 02, 2017) | FOX Sports
INJURY REPORT

Norman left in the second quarter with a rib injury and could miss several ribs...

(Sorry I haven't learned to format yet.)

Lol. I saw something saying he could miss no games.

I just fawking love how we never get any fawking credit from the media.

Monday night’s 29-20 win over Washington was far from a perfect performance. The normally stout Chiefs defense gave up big chunks of yardage, and sloppy penalties by the Washington defense kept Kansas City drives alive five times—including a costly defensive offside on Washington linebacker Preston Smith on a third-and-goal in the third quarter, which led to a Chiefs’ TD rather than a field goal.
